I have tried to enable WLAN in my Bolero, but did not succeed. I have a 654 035 869 B. I assumed that the same chip is used as in earlier models, which was a combined bluetooth/wlan chip, so that I just needed to enable WLAN (somehow). I have found out that the 869 B has DAB and WLAN is not pre-activated. I have also been in a Scala with the 871 A and found that that car had WLAN activated, but did not have DAB. I have found that there are three versions of the Bolero: - 654 035 869 B (with DAB, WLAN not activated) - 654 035 871 A (without DAB, WLAN activated) - 654 035 871 B (??)
I am wondering if someone with a 869 B has WLAN activated and what the difference between 869 B and 871 B is.
There are two other version, but these are Swing models: - 654 035 867 A (without DAB) - 654 035 869 A (with DAB)

Did you perform a reset after enabling these settings by pressing the left button for at least 10 seconds?

Is wireless carplay available as an option in your country? I suspect it has something to do with the country code.

Hi, awesome stuff this idea of enabling WLAN. I am very confused and lost but also very interested in this. So many questions... I hope you or somebody can help
- Where do you get the part number of your Bolero infotaiment? I have a 2019 Scala with Bolero, without DAB and without WLAN.
- I assume this is to enable the Smartlink+ functionality with is included but not enabled if you did not order it as an extra, am I right? - I can see some coding in the thread but, where does it come from? and, do they work in any case/Bolero...?
Thanks

Kamiq 1.0 TSI (SE) Ambition MY21.
I have a Bolero 654 035 869 D with DAB. However, I am not sure if the WLAN module is available. Any info?

Nobody has succeeded to enable WLAN for the Bolero yet. You can give it a try and let us know!
The coding in this thread does not come from a MIB3 Bolero, but it looks quite similar. Enabling WLAN will probably enable Wireless Smartlink with some extra coding. Therefore, you need at least Smartlink enabled by USB.

My first steps in obdelven, since I have it just from today! As I was searching around the long codings, I notice that in 75 Telematics there is WLAN in whuch in my scala is Off. Do you think that this is probably the answer how to proceed with? Shall I make it on? and then search if there is a change in 5f

I have found that option as well. Enabled WLAN, 5gh wlan in 5f and the WLAN in 75. This will result in a fault code due to "wrong coding" in 75. Therefore, with that change, I was not able to enable it. If anyone with WLAN can make printscreens of the adaptations of 5f and the long coding of 75, that would be appreciated

This is what happened this morning to me when I monitored the status of the WLAN in 75 ('Live Data' in the 75 module's menu).
When I have activated the WLAN module in adaptation (Wlan on) the live data was not available:
After I have de-activated the WLAN module (i.e. Wlan off) the live data provided the following:
Isn't it awkward that the Mac address of the network card (i.e. WLAN module) appears when the module should be switched off? Shouldn't be the other way around?
Any suggestion???

Are you sure you checked this in module 75? I don't have any live data of WLAN in 75, but I have it in module 5f. For me it is 000000000000 for all 4. You can try the settings on this page*: www.drive2.ru/l/578688363935039753/* it did not work for me.

Hi Jesse, Sorry. I meant module 5F, not 75.
For the first time Apple CarPlay asks to connect through WLAN:
If I push the Enable WLAN button, nothing happens. I still can't see WLAN in settings.

This looks promising for you! My unit did never ask me to enable wlan. Did you perform a reset after you have coded?

I have the output from a Bolero (654 035 871 B) which had the wifi menu enabled. I have compared it with my configuration and made the adjustments according to his configuration in module 5F. For me, it did not work. Maybe it works for you: WLAN: ON (was: Off) function_configuration_connectivity (in Dutch) wlan_module: Niet geactiveerd external_wlan_antenna: none WIFI_Hotspot_2_4GHz: uit WIFI_Hotspot_5GHz: aan wifi_client_mode_2_GHz: uit wifi_client_mode_5GHz: uit app_connect_over_wifi: ja online_media: uit Baidu_Car_Life: uit google_android_auto: aan apple_car_play: aan Mirror_link: aan mirror_link_country_code: EU MirrorLink_RGB_Preference: ARGB888 viwi_function: Niet ingebouwd viwi_access_mode: no_restriction reserved_1: uit bluetooth_visibility: on Bluetooth_Availability: Niet beschikbaar messaging_via_map: Niet ingebouwd reserved_2: Niet ingebouwd messaging_pagewise_scrolling: Niet ingebouwd calendar_via_ctn: uit wlan_aps_to_ccu_routing: aan wlan_tethering_connection_check_via_disgnosis: aan Bluetooth_Multimedia_Functionality: Niet beschikbaar Bluetooth_Phone: Niet beschikbaar Bluetooth_Audio: Niet beschikbaar Bluetooth_Headphones: Niet beschikbaar Baidu_Car_Life_ios: uit welink: uit 5_ghz_wlan: ---: On (was: off) same_ssid_for_2_4_and_5_ghz: ---: Yes (was: no) channel_band_width_802_11ac: ---: 40MHz (was: 20Mhz) Give it a try and let us know if it worked

It is not working either for me. It does show WLAN when you scroll down the favourite menu BUT nothing happens if you press it. And it does not have in settings WLAN so as to make any adjustments. Forget ot say that I have 654 035 871 B
ps. I think my phone found this wlan network, it had numbers and it was the first time that i noticed around my home but i cannot be 100% sure that it was from my car...
ps2. I suppose that the all thing has to do with update of software or country licence.

HI Jesse
It doesn't work to me. Perhaps because mine is a 654 035 869 and not a 654 035 871.
It's so weird. It seems the MMI has the WLAN module, but for some reason it is not activating
I wonder if changing the country of sale may help.....
In the meantime I have found some interesting info about our Bolero (aka "Panasonic MIB3E_MQB_BTWIFI" and "MIB3HBTWIFI")
Here the User Manual:
Here the certificate of similarity between models:
I have found the VAGCoding for the 654 035 871 B Would the 69 have the same coding???

I just had a look at a brand new Kamiq HW: 654 035 869 B / 040 SW: 654 035 869 D / 1310 I did the coding as can be found above (instead of wlan_tethering_connection_check_via_disgnosis, I left it no). Then I get the same screen as Volvic when connecting through Bluetooth. Enabling WLAN does not do anything. After that, I thought about the WLAN setting is module 75 - Telematics. Maybe enable WLAN here, give it a reset, leave it locked for 15 minutes and it might work. See this post related to Audi: forum.obdeleven.com/post/45460

I tried again everything above and also the final suggestion with lock for 15minutes , but nothing worked again. there is no menu of WLAN and I might think that we have to enabling it somehow !
I left all adoptations to above options and I will wait for someone to solve it - don t know something else to proceed with...

I asked in a facebook group regarding the case that we are facing. one guy inform me that to enable wlan we have to have swap code 70700 installed and then to code as we did. As I check, I do not have it installed but it can be. one solution is to generate swap code and activate with odis. Is it possible also with obd eleven? Can someone try this?

That can actually be the solution! I have talked with tromalas regarding the FEC / SWAP codes, see also this thread: forum.obdeleven.com/thread/10257/bolero-change-channel-radio-frequency. We both have a Bolero and the 869B version. His car has WLAN enabled. He has confirmed that he has the following FEC/SWAP codes installed: 0x00050000 - Bluetooth - Installed 0x00060300 - Mirrorlink - Installed 0x00070700 - ?? - Installed 0x00070d00 - (Probably Apple Carplay/Android Auto) - Installed 0x00070e00 - (Probably Apple Carplay/Android Auto) - Installed The only FEC/SWAP code my Scala does not have installed is 0x00070700. How do we generate a SWAP code and activate this?

There is a secret service menu by holding the menu touchpad in for a few seconds. Maybe it can be a benefit to some.
