Hello

i have Seat Leon 1.2tsi 2015.
i want to retrofit the Virtual Cockpit and bought a second hand unit.
When it arrived i wanted to hook it up to check if it worked.
After connecting the VC, all alarms and lights went off, together with component protection. But this i expected.
I did not start the engine nor took it for a drive...only ignition on.
After reconnecting the original instrument cluster again, alarms and lights went off .
This i did not expect, but i assumed is was like when you change the battery, take it for a short drive and clear the faults.

Back home...off course all the warning signs still there so i scanned with obdeleven.
Result: full long coding from module 03, brake electronics, wiped and a bunch off faults in different modules.

i could recode the module 3 to its old value (see pic):

Cleared faults again, but i still have many faulty modules and need some help!

I am afraid I do not have the answer but it does look like somehow the car has done a factory reset so there are no basic settings.

From what i have read on other threads where this sort of stuff happens you will need to run the basic settings for the brakes and then hopefully a lot of the database error messages will disappear but this is only a guess on my part.

I have seen this recently forum.obdeleven.com/post/37875 on steering angle sensor and the bit I took of not was that you have to set the diagnostic mode to EOL.

Funny..this is one off the first postsi came across looking for answers.

but already in step 2 in had a problem:Live data steering angle is stuck at 3276.7°..turning the wheel , left, right..nothing.
so i cant zero it out?

Its not that i dont want to try..but i’m afraid to make it worse if i start mixing up methods.
i read as well that a missing basic setting of the brake sensor can inhibit the calibration of the steering angle sensor.

Fully understand, Don is in Auz so hopefully will pick this up overnight.

Would be gratefull if you could document what you did in the end as I have a guy in Spain who did a factory reset and his car is in the same mess as your.
The only difference is he is not able to change the long coding, which I have always been told is because you have to do basic settings first.

putting back the old value was the easy part...it was in my history.
i read a horror story about a guy who in the end changed his entire steering column due to similar errors.

what still keeps me baffled is the fact that disconnecting the instrument cluster resets the brake electronics module to 00...

hope Don picks up on this!

Well...seems going to the dealer was the best option. Called them last week..they gave me an appointment this morning (Corona Times) and after 1h everything was recalibrated. They hooked up the car with ODIS.
Double checked the long coding in the 3 brakes module.
Paid €80.

Did they give you any idea why the brakes did that when all you did was remove the dash.
