Hi I calibrated the steering angle as below...(other procedures had no effect)
• The procedures of solving this problem is very simple and take no more than 10 minutes.
• Make sure the engine is OFF and the ignition in ON from the first before you do anything.
1- Go to control units -> (Steering assistance)
2- Live Data -> Choose (Steering angle sensor, angle) then put OK, after that turn your steering to the middle and make sure the angle isn’t more than ( 0 ) degree, and don’t touch the steering wheel at all until you finish all the procedures.
• That’s most important step so you can have some permission i think to do some coding you couldn’t do it before and it tells you ERROR!!
3- Go to (Diagnostic session) from (Steering Assistance) again -> and change it to (End of assembly line mode) (EOL).
4- Go to (Basic settings) from (Steering assistance) again -> choose (Steering angle sensor) and activate it and leave it unitl it turnd off by itself it may takes 60 seconds mostly.
5- turn OFF the ignition, turn it ON again then turn ON the engine.
6- Go to (Basic settings) again from (Steering assistance) and choose the last one (Steering angle sensor, zero calibration w/ steer . wheel scales) put the value (0) degree then -> done.
after all that it must be solved and the fault and light in the dashboard disappeared, after that just turn OFF the ignition, and do final scan and clear all the faults,, that’s exactly what i did and it works 100% and all problems is solved.

Hi, a have a question for You. I drive a MQB Passat B8. After a wheel alignment, when i drive in a straight linewhen I am driving in a straight line, the car slightly turns left. With the steering wheel perfectly straight, I have these parameters: Is it ok? how can I reset these values so that with a perfectly straight steering wheel it is 0 degrees? PS. I tried to do your method but I don't know one thing: in step 2. the steeringwheel should be perfectly straight or should be positioned so that the value 0 degrees is visible on the obd11 app?

from the vag group service manual: '' 13) If steering wheel is not centred, it must be straightened after wheel alignment is finished. Then carry out basic setting for steering angle sender - G85- using ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester. ''

i can think of one reason and that is when users run factory reset or other events that leave cars systems all in a state that requires this process to fix the issue
and before you say it i think the reset process should be much more difficult to use

Hi,
Exactly as you write testeronline and adrianvw. This method makes sense if there is no mechanical damage... then the car needs to be repaired...
obd11 can't calibrate the steering angle otherwise ... and I've tried several methods...

Hi, andi49
to zero the angle try using steering angle initialization ... the steering wheel must be set to 0 ° for it to work

Hi andi49,
the steering wheel makes a few turns - then do not touch it
you can do it with the engine off - but in adaptations you have to choose - help activation without starting the engine

sd82 You really saved me man, i thought doing an hard reset of the ABS module would fix the Auto Hold not working but i ended up screwing my car, with your guide i was able to get rid of all the faults and lights in the dashboard except one, after the calibration a new fault named "End stop not learned" appeard, i don't really now how i fixed it but i was able to get rid of this fault as well, i think i was in End of assembly line mode and then with the steering wheel fully to the right i clicked on the end stop reset basic setting, i did the same thing for the left side and the fault disappeard right afterwards.
Thank you so much.

it's an old post, but could anyone tell me how to do this procedure correctly and if it can help with the correct angle? I've changed the clock spring and steering wheel, but after that, I noticed that the car is pulling slowly left with a straight steering wheel, so I fitted the wheel on 1-2 teeth left to have it straight. Now I see in the live data of the steering assistance and I've got 4.34 degrees with the straight wheel.
