Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum but could really do with some help. I've changed the fuel filter on a MK6 Golf TDI and tried to prime the fuel pump. I here the pump running but when I crank the engine it won't start. I don't want to crank for more than 3 or 4 seconds to protect the fuel pump.
Here is the procedure I've used. -Swapped fuel filter and O ring -Filled with diesel as best I could -Ran fuel pump as follows: Engine -> basic output -> fuel relay. ran for 2 minutes and could hear it going.
I also tried the method in this video: but nothing seemed to happen.
This video is also very helpful but the menu in my app is different and so couldn't use this method.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
many thanks

From what I gather, the main fuel pump in the fuel tank is working, however the auxiliary fuel pump which primes the CR isn't. I certainly can't hear it going at all. I get the image below when I try and run the aux fuel pump. It will not run due to safety reasons. Any help is much appreciated.

When you change the diesel filter you have to perform transfer fuel pump (fp) test.

Thinking of doing this myself on my Mk6. Did you manage to figure it out?
