Do our MK7s have the side light function for street parking? i.e. if you flip the signal stalk left or right and the corresponding exterior lights will illuminate but not at full brightness. How do you enable it in OBD11?
I would want the rear side marker light(s) to illuminate instead of the rear full parking lights. Can it be done?

^^^ For Single side Parking Light (SSPL): in the BCM (@ address hex09) - make sure that Driving light and parking light-Parklicht ueber LSS aktiviert is set to One-sided
Then pick which lamps you want to operate as SSPL and add these commands to the associated Leuchte-set:
Left side lamp Lichtfunktion > Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) Dimmwert > choose a low illumination level (for halogen lamps - suggest 31)
Right side lamp Lichtfunktion > Parklicht rechts Dimmwert > choose a low illumination level (for halogen lamps - suggest 31)
Don Note: for Golf mk7.5 - likely the headlight lamps are NOT controlled by the BCM. Instead they will likely use LCMs (Light Control Modules). So, the Leuchte-sets for these lamps will not be activated - hence it is not possible to use these lamps as SSPL. For the front, perhaps consider the turn signal lamps - but if your car has incandescent turn signal lamps DON'T select a Dimmwert value greater than 50 (or the lamp base will overheat and the lamp holder will melt)

I have full LEDs front and rear so no halogens. MK7.5.
Which command is for the rear side marker lights?
So Dimmwert is the brightness? What is the lowest and the highest value?
Thanks.

^^^^ Try Leuchte23SL HLC10 Dimmwert smallest= 1 and maximum = 127 (only for LED)
If you want max illumination - try Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion B 23 > Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) For this you don't need to add a Dimmwert setting - because Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimmwert AB 23 will be already set to 127)
If you want a smaller illumination, add my Leuchte-commands to Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion C 23 and Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimmwert CD 23

Hey all, if that doesn’t work then use Leuchte27NSL. On North American facelift Golfs this is used for the rear side markers. Everywhere else it’s for the rear fog light.

I've been told to change ENG116959-ENG116313-Leuchte23SL HCL10 - Lichtfunktion B23 from 'not active' to Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) and ENG116959-ENG116313-Leuchte24SL HCL10-Leuchte24SL HCL10 - Lichtfunktion B24 from 'not active' to Parking light right

If you want only your rear side markers to be used then just modify Leuchte27NSL, not the other channels. Lichtfunktion A should already be set to “Standlicht allgemein” or something like that. Keep in mind tho, you can’t control the rear side markers independently.. left and right are both on the same wire. So you could set Lichtfunktion B in Leuchte27NSL to “Parklicht links” then you’d turn it on by the left turn signal.

Do I need to enable abschaltbar über Energiemanagement for Bedingungen zur Parklichtbegrenzung and Bedingungen zur Standlichtbegrenzung?

I don't remember doing that, no. I just used Don's instructions and make sure the Parklicht uber LSS aktiviert was set to the right thing.

I'm assuming one is left and the other is right taillight.

lordnikon: this is a very old thread - let's start from the beginning: what do you want to do? Are you from USA? Do you have LED tails? Are your tails factory fitted? Don

Hi Don,
I have a NAR spec MK7.5 Golf GTI. I retrofitted euro taillights with rear fog functionality (LED tails without dynamic indicators) They don't have any side marker lights.
I want to enable single side parking lights (SSPL) and was wondering what coding I should do to mimic the exact function of SSPL function of ROW MK7.5 Golfs from the factory.

lordnikon : OK - then the task is very much as I explain below: ^^^ For Single side Parking Light (SSPL): in the BCM (@ address hex09) - make sure that Driving light and parking light-Parklicht ueber LSS aktiviert is set to One-sided Then pick which lamps you want to operate as SSPL and add these commands to the associated Leuchte-set: Left side lamp Lichtfunktion > Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) Dimmwert > choose a low illumination level (for halogen lamps - suggest 31) Right side lamp Lichtfunktion > Parklicht rechts Dimmwert > choose a low illumination level (for halogen lamps - suggest 31) The only complication that may be a problem is identifying which lamp applies to which Leuchte-set. If you have retrofitted new tails, it's likely that you have altered the Leucht-set allocations - I'm not sure? Don
