New OBDeleven scanner says I have 260,000+ miles but my odometer says 161,729 miles on my 2014 VW GLI. My setting is set to imperial and the VW dealer verified my odometer mileage matches their scanner output.
Why does OBD show over 100,000 more miles?

Experiencing the same thing, but suspect I know why, but would sure like to know how to fix! I had moonroof leak and I think fried my BCM. I replaced the BCM and now the scan mileage must be from the donor vehicle, as my original mileage is over 100k less. In the process of trying to get it all back to normal - like syncing key fobs and trunk opening : / I have a 2011 Jetta TDI Sportwagen.

From what i can see the issue bmoney is having is that 260000 is actually KM not Miles (if you convert it to Miles it gives you 161000 +). mrnmh123 it would make sense that if you have replaced your BCM That the millage is showing the dona value and not the same as your speedo shows. Have you checked the mileage on Control Unit 17 (dashboard) to see if that shows the same as you speedo. If that is the problem then I do not think you can use OBD11 to adjust the value.

Please let me know if you were able to get your FOB to work again after you replaced BCM. I did same thing with my 2010 (BCM got soaked, corroded) and can't get FOB to do anything with the doors anymore.
