I'm wrong. It works. I did not understand that it should be set to "on" !! When it is "on" the start / stop is ... off !

Hi,
I've got softwareupdate totay for my 8v. Before I'd deactivated start/stop. And after softwareupdater it is activated again. Now I am not able to deactivate it again with the programedfunction.
Has anyone the same problem or a hint?
Thanks a lot

Yes, it works fine. But unless you want to permanently deactivate the start stop feature, I see this app useless since you do not save fuel at the red traffic light for example. So, i deactivated the app, to take benefit of the fuel saving. Think responsible and love the planet.

I found this coding:
Control Unit 09 -> Adaption -> Change value from 7.6(standard) to 12
There was a annotation for this coding which says: Deactivation of the SSA is not permitted by law. Therefore, this is only permitted for test purposes.

Deactivation of the SSA is not permitted by law. They'd have to catch me first. Fortunately, my GTI doesn't have such a feature. I can't see how Start-Stop is worth it if you have to replace your starter and flywheel due to the increased wear. The negligible amount you "think" you are saving in fuel is outweighed by the cost of a starter in my opinion.

Maybe most of the people who use Start-Stop are only seeing the amount of gasoline they save and not the increased wear of the "hidden" components. That's how the car industry gets their money
