Hi everyone,
I recently installed two sets (I thought one was defective so I returned and bought another set from a different seller) of dynamic indicators and for some reason when the vehicle is off, they sweep fully but when the engine is turned on, it only does about 1/2 - 3/4 of the length.
Would anyone know the cause of this? I checked for faults and did not find any.

This is purely a guess, what are your values for (ZV-Blinken_Hellzeit, ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit & ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit) They will be under Central electrics (09) -Acknowledgement signals

So I played with the values from 1-250 and none of the number ranges affected the dyanmic blinker 😭

My values are 200ms aswell and the dynamic mirror indicator works normally. Do you happen to have dynamic rear taillights?
edit: another guess, what is your value for "Dynamische_Blink_Delay"? you will find it under Central electrics -Adaption --Aussenlicht_Blinkrt

I wish I had dynamic rear taillights, unfortunately, I have the basic US speced taillights haha I will check that this evening, I appreciate you taking time to help me figure this out! That value is set at 50ms. I noticed something today. When the vehicle is on (but not engine) the dynamic mirrors work perfect. It is only when the engine is powered on, it does not full pulsate. That is so odd, I cannot figure out why when engine on, it does not fully pulsate. My value is at 50ms aswell, I am out of ideas. I will be looking around for some more. but hopefully someone who knows the answer might step in and help you. I drive a Golf mk7.5 Sportswagen (no dynamic lights except for the side mirror turnsignal mod) and they function correctly both with ignition on and engine on. I am curious to understand what it is that differs from your hatcback and my sportswagen that makes the dynamic turnsignals for the mirror to act up.

Vic, I appreciate you taking the time to try to figure this out with me. From other videos I have watched, 2019 Golf R are fine with dynamic indicators, my car just happens to not work properly lol. I uncoded everything in central electronics and still cannot resolve the issue

Maybe look in the door modules? I haven’t got anything handy to look at at the mo to look at mo tho, does it say anything about programming in the instructions?

Myself I’d actually pop in the old one (just the electrical connection) and time the signal to see if it corresponds to the timing of your New one. If it does then I’d look to find timings of the indicators and extend them (as it looks like 1/2 second wrong) if it’s longer with the old ones then I’d say the sweepers are not fit for purpose and maybe look at the reviews of the manufacture

If I'm not mistaken, the new ones are the exact length as it fits within the mirror assembly + the cut out in the mirror so the driver can see when indicating. Once I figure out the timing, which value do I adjust? VIC had mentioned a few values in the earlier part of this thread: ZV-Blinken_Hellzeit, ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit, ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit, & Dynamische_Blink_Delay. Thank you!

^^ I just tested the values I first spoke of "ZV-Blinken_Hellzeit, ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit, ZV-Blinken_Dunkelzeit." and they only control the indicators when you lock and unlock the car from the remote.
it doesnt change the delay when the indicator stalk or emergency hazzard is used.

I bought a nonbranded one from Aliexpress which also has a little white led show at the start FYI the light show only "lasts" for 10seconds ish and turns off, (connected via puddle light)www.aliexpress.com/item/33010022048.html

So fancy!!!
I assume you taped into your puddle lights? US Spec ones do not have puddle lights so I wonder which I can tap into.
I might have to get those and just try if I cannot figure out this set.
Thank you for posting a video!

Yes connected via puddle light, also the light show is only "lit" for 10 seconds roughly then turns off. I am unsure on which pin from the door module the puddle light gets power from, otherwise there seems to be alot of guides where they take power from other wires to retrofit their puddle lights if they dont have the correct door module.
No worries for the video, also the one I bought is called "Dynamic white" third option from the left in the listing.

Thank you Vic for all your help.
I emailed the vendor regarding the 2019 model and seeing if it will work or not... Hopefully it will!

if you get a new pair and they work feel free to update this thread, I am curious to know if it is a hardware issue or not.

ViĆ,
I've been in contact with the seller and they "assure" me that the 2019 version works. While they claim that it "fits" the 2019 I want them to confirm that it actually works. I tried to repeat to them the error I experienced from other vendors of the partial dynamic blinking when the engine is on but they keep assuring me that it works.
With that said, I'm still researching how to best tap into the puddle light as I do not have that in the US speced vehicle.
If I do end up getting it, I will definitely share my experience if it actually works or not.

Hey ViĆ,
Can you confirm your vehicle came equipped with puddle lights? I believe you do but just wanted to make sure.
I love how when you unlock it does that dynamic white light effect but afraid it may not work properly in the US since I do not have puddle lights and need to tap into a "white wire" per the vendor.
Thank you as always!
P.S. If you have a 2019 Golf Estate I would only ASSUME that it should be the same as my 2019 Golf R

Hello quantumn
My car did not come with puddle lights nor folding mirrors. I bought the folding mirrors with puddle lights + driver door module from a nearby car junkyard and installed it on my car from factory my car is equipped with regular non folding mirrors. I love the white led show at the start aswell, its a shame that it is only on for 10 seconds roughly
if you check modules " Door Electronics Driver Side (42)" & "Door Electronics Passenger Side (52)", does the Hardware number under Info end with 593 for Driver side and 592 for Passenger side ? if they do then you can easily add a new wire instead of tapping into one and route it up the door to the side mirror.

Hey ViĆ,
You are just a wealth of knowledge haha...
It appears the driver door does include 592 and passenger door 593.
Your statement, "you can easily add a new wire instead of tapping into one and route it up the door to the side mirror."
I'm assuming that would involve taking the door card off and trying to feed the wires up and into the mirror housing? Ideally, I do not want to be that involved just to get a light to turn on for 10 seconds LOL! If that is the case, is there anything I can do with just the mirror cap off to achieve this result?
I would only wire the cable up if I get power folding mirrors as well so I can tackle both projects at once.
Thank you!

I am no car mechanic, just been doing certain "small" stuff to cars I have owned/ friends cars, apologies for calling it easy if you never done anything like this before then it wouldn't be easy at all Yes the door panel need to be removed and would be "same" type of job needed if you would run the puddle light wire only or changing to power folding mirrors. Here is some videos on how to install power folding mirrors.
edit: forgot to mention that module 593 & 592 also supports power folding, so you wont be needing to buy new modules (like i did) if you decide to replace your mirrors with power folding ones. you only need to do activate few settings on each module to tell them you installed power folding mirrors.

Hey ViĆ,
Majority of the time, I do my own maintenance to my vehicles and also tweak it with random mods. I've taken my door off just about ever car I've owned to do window regulators, speaker upgrade or rattle fixes. Only reason I'm hesitant to do this one is I only have 2000 miles on the vehicle, I just feel bad pulling apart the door and splicing a cable LOL.
I am planning in the future to do the power mirror with puddle light + the puddle light for the bottom of the door in one go. I just don't want to do it...yet.
With that said, aside from the cool factor for those 10 seconds, would you still recommend it over the standard dynamic lights? Which was the original purpose until I was amazed by that effect haha
Thank you!

I can only speak for myself, since I love "small" details that changes my cars appearance I almost always jump to change it.
