Hi, so far I've been playing with obdeleleven and also bought PRO to activate rain closing windows and some other things that could require long coding. However, I've a question that concerns me. For example, I've activated speed limiter sound warning and it added an option in the FIS to set the speed and also an option on the infoentetainment do enable/disable it. But, then I switched it back to disabled on obdeleven and applied changes and no matter what I did (turn off car, reboot system etc) the option was still there and I still could enable/disable it no matter what, however, obdeleven reports it as disabled. Which, somehow, confuses me now, because I don't really know what's active then. Is obdeleven correct or the car? How can I force the changes to be applied? Thank you.

Been a while since I looked at this but from memory there are 3 different speed warning. There is a Winter Tyre warning that you can set the speed you want the warning to show on the FIS There is a speed warning that again you can set the speed you want the warning to show on the FIS Third one is a fixed speed (think its around 70mph but works in KPH) that you cant change the value for as its hard coded in the firmware. My car came with the first two as stock (it is a pre facelift) could you please confirm what coding you used to get the warning and what year is your car (and if newer is it a digital or analogue dash)
In answer to how do you apply changes if you coded it then you will get a green tick box to select and a message at the bottom of the screen saying something like change accepted. If you used a app then it will give you a dropdown list you have to select options from (eg turn on or off) and again a button to confirm the change.
If you go to your history section it should show what has been done to your car.

Thank you for your answer. This is driving me crazy because it's also happening for other settings (eg. I've switched FIS from radio name OR frequency to radio name AND frequency and then switched back to the first (OR) and it sticks with the modification - module 17, coding Radio lst). It seems that after applying new changes, it just can't revert back to old setting no matter what. As for the speed, mine is facelift mk3 (2018) without digital cockpit but colored FIS and MIB2. Mine only came with the warning for winter tires stock. So, I activated the custom warning by going to module 17, speed warning, set to active (default there was a 150 km/h limit) and a new option showed up in FIS that let me set a warning for a particular speed. Then, I switched back to not active, applied, and the changes are still there and the option in the MIB2/FIS is there as well, just liked if it was still active in obdeleven. I've turned off the car, restarted the MIB, etc. what am I missing to undo changes? Now I'm afraid to customize new stuff. Thank you!

Interesting, what version of the software are you using please.
When you look at your history section does it show you have changed it back to the original settings or is it not showing anything at all.

When you look at your history section does it show you have changed it back to the original settings or is it not showing anything at all. I'm using latest version from PlayStore (0.17.2 I guess) and yes, the history shows every application as it should (now because of this there are a bunch of active/inactive sequencial logs). I've enabled a lot of things (mirrors, lights, etc.) everything is working as it should, this is the first weird thing that I'm noticing. By your experience, when you toggle off on obdeleven MIB options, does it disappear immediately from the screen?

Normally yes things arrive very quickly, on odd occation you have to re boot the MIB Unit but I would not expect that for the speed bit.
If you go to your history, select the filter (top of the screen upside down triangle) and clear all and just tick the adaptation, on the hope you did this today then under the time drop down box select 1 day and then see if the history is showing you turning on the speed limiter (it should because its working) and then higher up there should be another one showing it turned off, can you confirm it shows you turned off.

One other thing if you have a weak internet connection I am guessing its possible the changes have not stuck (I have not proof of this just a hunch).
If you go back to module 17, speed warning, and if its still active (which I am guessing it is) then try to reset to not active, hit the green button and make sure you get the adaption accepted message. Then go to your history and make sure the change is shown.
If it is not shown I would raise this with the help desk (help function in the app from main menu) and point them at this thread for details.

Yes, it shows old value: active, new value: not active. The thing that this is not only happening with speed warning but also with Radio list option (that I've just toggled to force some change, it applied and now I can't disabled it). However, I tried on a different phone, and the values were being read as not active (which is the new setting) but then again, it's still visible on FIS/MIB. Unless this maps to a completely different setting that I'm not aware of. Why does it say 150 km/h (as default speed) if the speed is customizable on the vehicle?

Is it possible that this setting is relative to this that you've mentioned above and I might be confusing somehow? If not, what are the steps to modify that one?

Yeah, I've changed so many things that now I'm afraid that speed warning was always there on MIB as an option but only noticed today because enabled this on obdeleven and then went "after it". The same goes for radio on FIS, I've checked name & frequency and the radio station names show with a little FM on the bottom left on the FIS (or FM with a number if on favorites) and this could have been probably always there and I'm just thinking that not. Could you confirm this as well (if your radio station on FIS displays with a little FM under and which setting do you have?). Thank you very much.

Sorry I have to go out this morning, will complete the checks this afternoon, Firstly extract from the user manual www.seat.com/datamanual-manual/leon/my19_w48/en-uk/LEON_11_18_EN.pdfSet a speed warning ●Select the display Speed warning at---km/h or Speed warning at ---mph. ●Press the button ok/reset on the windscreen wiper lever or the button ok on the multifunc-tion steering wheel to store the current speed and activate the warning. ●Activate: adjust to the desired speed within 5 seconds using the rocker switch trip on the windscreen wiper lever or by turning thet humbwheel on the multifunction steeringwheel. Next, press the button ok/reset or ok again or wait several seconds. The speed is stored and the warning activated Operation ●Deactivate: press button ok/reset or button ok. The stored speed is deleted. The warning can be adjusted for speeds be-tween 30 km/h (18 mph) and 250 km/h(155 mph) the fixed speed warning at 75mph can be turned on using Bit 6 of Byte 00 in control unit 17 (this is the third one you have no control over the speed of)

Well i had five minutes so checked out the speed issue. well I had a look and module 17, speed warning, set to active is actually the setup for the Winter Tyres. If you open it in OBD11 and make it inactive the winter tyre in the MFD will change to unticked, once you activate it then it sets the box to ticked and shows the speed that it was last set at, you can adjust the speed in the MFD or in OBD11, You can also set the warning to KMH or MPH but that only appears to be in OBD11. The actual Speed warning in the FIS is user controlled via the FIS Setup as per instructions in my previous post. So the reason you are confused (as was I when I saw it) is the attribute speed warning it for winter tyres not to adjust / turn off speed warning.
If you want to disable the normal speed warning then from car settings select Multifunction Display and untick the speed warning option that will then remove this from the FIS.
Hope that helps. Will have a look at the radio stuff later.

Thank you @testeronline for your quick insights! That's what I thought then.
Just out of curiosity, other than disabling it from the MD, is there any way that you know from removing it at all as an option?
Another 2 questions if you don't mind:
1. When playing with module 17 long coding I saw an unticked: Break lining wear indicator with brake system indicator light. Do you know what does that mean? Does that mean I don't have brake pads wear light enabled (which I assume I have since I bought the car)?
2. What will happen if I enable any setting related to something that I don't have on my car? For example, enabling lane assist without camera? Will the obdeleven protect/reject any setting that isn't compatible with the current car?
Thank you once again!

No problem helps me learn more about the car.
RE Just out of curiosity, other than disabling it from the MFD, is there any way that you know from removing it at all as an option?
Not that I know off but if you want to find out yourself you take a backup of control unit 17 with it ticked and then take a backup of it unticked and see if you can see any differences. However to remove it from your FIS Screen just untick it in the MFD.
With regards to break lining wear indicator, As stock my car came fitted with this (although I never saw it in action) however i then had a big break kit fitted to turned it off as the pads I have on my car do not support this feature.
In general if you turn on something that is not fitted to the car, obd11 will allow you and the car will also allow you to make that change. But as soon as you run a scan you will get an error message that tells you that you have something that is not talking to the cars network so you can then untick it. I would always suggest you take a backup before any changes and research as much as possible to see if others have had problems, for example the Audi Throttle response caused issues to facelift cars that did not have ACC Fitted. But I would always recommend running a scan after changes to make sure the car is not showing issues.
If you are new to all of this then I would be very careful around breaks and would not touch Air Bags.
Hope that helps

@testeronline so far I've mostly been playing with electronics (windows, mirrors, lights and other display options).
Also, still regarding the Break lining wear indicator with brake system indicator light. my concerning is if that option means enabling the brake pad warning light or is it something additional (eg. also enabling the brake light along with worn brake pads) -- I quite don't get the semantics of the option.
Thanks.

My understanding is that if you car has the sensor fitted then when the break pads wear down the sensor knows this and it will display a break warning sign on the dashboard, I presume if you enable it and you don't have the sensors fitted then the scan would give an error, afraid I cant check this for you as I have both coded it out and also put a wire in so that the system is always fooled into thinking the pads are fine.

Yep, in general the long coding is the switch that turns on the hardware the adaptions then give you more control of the hardware is my understanding.
UPDATE
And just to add here this is all based on my experience and what I have seen, dont mean its all correct but others can chip in when I get is wrong.

I'm just wondering whether it as enabled or not. The car made all services on SEAT so it should be always have the warnings, IMO.

My cupra came with it as standard but I do not know if all cars have this fitted. Also its possible somebody has fitted pads that do not support this function (seen that a few times on the forums) so they (or the dealer) turned it off
Check out your car here to see if they were fitted (select the year or your Leon and then Brakes.
You are looking for the items in 10 & 11
