Hello
I initially didn't want to do something like this but VW, at the last garage overhaul, updated the firmware of the control units and now the ADBLUE consumption is at least twice what it was!!! I am now stressed about it and do not want, in case, to be blocked because of the lack of ADBLUE. Is there a way to disable this "start blocking"?
Thank you Stephane.

I noticed as well that after a service by the VW dealer that my adblue range was reduiced by 50%.(normally 9000km's with full tank, now 5500km's when topped off) My guess is that when VW garage plugged in their computer it automaticly installed a software update, most likely due to meet more strict environement regulations.
It isn't possible to disable the don't run without adblue. You can keep on driving without adblue as long as the engine runs. Once you turn off the engine it won't start anymore until you fill up adblue.

You still get notification when the remaining distance is 3000 km 2400 km, is that not enough? You can keep an eye on the remaining distance, 4 times (as I remember well) by pressing the left button next to the dashboard.

And a warning light comes up at your dash the last remaining 1000km's and from that point on you'll get every 100km a loud beep with notification how much autonomy you have left.
