Does anyone know where to code / adapt to de-activate the oil sensor? Keep getting a warning of faulty sensor, changed to a new sensor (Hella OEM) but same fault, only a bit less cash in pocket, looks like a wiring issue. None of my other cars have oil sensors... always used a dipstick and trust that more than a sensor anyway. I've seen a way of disaling brake sensor, thinking maybe a similar method?
Brake method:
1) Control Module
2) Central Electric (Option 09)
3) Coding (Option 7)
4) Byte #4
5) Bit 7 needs changing (Factory Enabled is "C", to disable, change to "4"
Factory: C2
Change to: 42

Please help  This is driving me nuts. Every damn time I start the car a long beep and 5 second display of "faulty sensor". For 1.5 years now! Due to the location of the sensor, it has to be timed with an oil change - first time the delivery of sensor was delayed so had to wait a year. New OEM sensor... same problem. As usual with these things, it's hardly ever the sensor, usually wiring. Besides, I don't rely on sensors anyway - I manually check all levels, brake pads, tyres etc. as routine on this and the other vehicles in the household. It's really not serving any purpose. If this engine could suddenly run out of oil, so could the other 95% of cars out there without oil warning lights. Even if it did, I'm not one of these hapless owners, I would know to immediately pull over and shut down. So with all that said Please can I get some help? I will probably take some time to investigate the wiring as I do like to have things working as they should, but for now, just need some peace when getting in the car. Thanks! |

Any ideas? Not all came with the oil sensors, so there must be a way to tell it that it does not have the oil sensor option?

Speak to Audi mine has just been in for a recall for this and got it replaced
