OBDeleven informs me about software updates. I assume it can not perform software/firmware updates for me.

Information Control Unit software version 0751 -> update 0761 - MIB II / hw 840 [threath]
Central Electronics software version 0223 -> update 0260
Dashboard software version 8311 -> update 9630

Anyone knows more about software updates? Google could not find any release notes online for me.

Q: Is it worth getting it updated. Will I go faster ;-) or is better to think "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

All OBD11 Can do is compare your hadware software version against its global database and see if there is a higher version.

It does not have the ability to do any updates just show you they are availiable.

If nobody can confirm on here what the benefits are then check out your VW Passat forums as there are a number of guys who will have done updates to both software and maps etc and should be able to confirm the benefit.

Personally I am on MIB1 and there are many more versions above mine but I have always taken the road if it aint broke dont fix it and certainly never seen any big performance benefits for the MIB Unit hopefully others can help more.
