HI all. May 2018 MK7.5 GTI. When ever i change the engine characteristics (sport, normal or Eco) in the "individual" driving modes, if I set it to say Eco then turn the engine off then on again, it defaults back to normal. The same happens if I select the Eco driving mode on the button, the next time I start the car even though it's still apparently set to Eco, then gearbox mode in the instrument dials then says "D" not "E" for eco.
I'm sure on my older 2016 GTD that the driving modes used to remember the settings. Anyone know if this is programmable via OBDeleven please ?

I thought it changed gearbox mode back to normal so you couldn’t do any damage to it while it’s cold

If its like the Leon setup then it's default position is comfort and it only remembers the Suspension and Aircon settings.
On the older cars if you put it in ECO it remembered this so when you restart the car it showed E in the gearbox section.
But the latest versions of the car no longer do that I am afraid they drop back to Comfort

In manual gearbox, the motor goes on without any stop. The modes changes and nothing happens . The motor runs without interruption.
and remember the last mode....

I've never used Eco, but if it's anything like Race, it's always in D when you start the car.

This depends on model year. or more precisely, it depends on parameter data set of gateway(19).
In MY17 car, the drive mode gear not changed back to D when restart the car.

Has anybody actually used this code and got it working.
Reason I ask, Tried this on the Seat Leon MQB Platform both pre facelift and facelift and this made no difference.
Specifically the DSG display changes from S to D when you cycle the ignition.
