Only share a question on what - and if software updates are a must or only “nice to have?” I attach 2 photos on the updates in question 1, Engine Control Module, current version: 2394. Update available: 3949 2, Dash Board, current version: 6420. Update available: 7653 To you who have a deeper knowledge on the VW versions – what are the actual differences and is it worth taking the car to the VW shop to effectuate these software upgrades(?) I was wondering about it too. From what I've read online, the dealers would update a module only if there's a problem with it. So, I guess "Nice to have".

VW will only flash if there is a TPI for that or an Engineer from VW will tell them to do so. I do not know the exact algorithm OBD11 uses to show this, but it never can know all variables and side effects relevant for upgrading.
A higher version number avaliable might not work for your car (especially all GTE end e- Cars have very specific software branches), so take this with caution.

I’m sure I’ve read in some VW bumf that the modules are easily updated so that bugs can be fixed and new features can be enabled

Are we sure this is an electric car? The dashboard looks like a petrol one from its partnumber. Generally: Take extra care with electric cars and flashing.
Flashing 01, 02, 03, 17 and 5F without exact knowledge might have an unpredicted outcome, as the software version is not linear (bigger is not always newer and better) and might not suit your car. Thats why this process is completely steered by the product management and odis-online certified workshops only do approved upgrades.
Without a spefic target and some preparation in mind, I would never suggest flashing without an TPI, altough the process is quite easy using VCP. Even then you should consider that this might be fatal for the flashed control unit (missing paramters and no downgrade possible, flash fail, killing swap fsids in acc).

Many thanks for your responses here!
My MISTAKE - posting in the wrong forum - this is NOT electric driven, TSI 1,2 is the engine in question. So - do take your different thoughts and relay on that IF it was needed to update the software - I would have been informed from VW.
