Is this the same for mk5 US? I turned on those selections and it is not working. I do have a faulty door lock, would that prevent the windows from remotely working?

Don't know about the MkV, but it could very well have different coding than the Mk6 (which is what I have)

I believe with the vw-mk5's window management is controlled 46-Comfort Systems coding not in 09 Central electrics.
I have some labels in the (46)control's long coding box --but I am so so sure of the best way to set the coding.

control units, comfort system, long coding, byte 06, make sure comf. funktion is set to active, then goto byte 07, set comf. opening via remote active + set comf. closing via remote active.
