This is driving me mental - I've probably seen it in all my searching, but have probably missed it since my eyes are glassed over at this point, but... anyone point me towards having the current gear showing in the digital dash while in automatic mode? This from a video on Youtube showing its doable, but not sure if thats a market thing (Euro vs US) but mine just shows D or S as opposed to S1, S2, S3, S4 etc.

I think it depends on how long the long coding in your trans module (02) is
newest is 4 where I think it’s a firmware thing (0014)
Then it’s a long one (40 odd numbers) in which case if the 4th number is 2 (byte 1 is 02), you change it to 1 (01) (uncheck bit1 , check bit 0)
If it’s a six (which is really early gearbox) you change it to rest of world
