Hi, has anyone had any issues fitting in Obdeleven device to the OBD port? my one doesn’t go in seems like the plastic edges of the device are too chunky to go through the trim.
I do have the vw data plug and it fits perfectly.
Passat GT 2015 estate.

I do have the vw data plug and it fits perfectly. Passat GT 2015 estate. Just received my obd11 and encountered the same issue in my 2016 Passat, the obd11 device is too chunky. I had to unscrew the plastic trim and remove the obd connector from the trim.

Same problem on 05 Jetta. I tried removing the connector from the panel and it still did not fit. I'm going to try using an extension. The dongle did fit the 09 Beetle I was working on. The PLX dongle I have did fit, but the obdeleven software is far superior for VW's.

The small storage box next to the steering column can be removed without tools - open it and give it a firm tug. You can then pop the OBD connector out from the back and plug in OBD11. Applies to B8 Passat at least, can't speak for the Jetta.

Yes, I had the same problem with my Vag-Com cable plug, haven't tried my new OBDEleven as yet. The OBD port on my '16 BiTdi is definitley only accepting a thinner plug.

Hi, check how do you guys work around the issue where the OBD11 does not fit into Passat B8 other than removing the panel and removing the clips for the connector. Would the new gen OBD fit in nicely?

Would the new gen OBD fit in nicely? I had the same problem with my Passat B8 BiTdi, couldn't plug in my Vagcom plug without pulling the socket to pieces. I haven't tried my OBD11 Pro yet (because my car is stored at the moment) but I'd be interested how you go. Wonder why they made the clearance so small on the B8 model?

I had to use a extender to get it into the socket.

Would like to update that the new OBD11 Gen 2 fits into the B8 socket without the need for any sockets or extender. Only thing is you cannot see the OBD11 LEDs as the dongle is small. But im not complaining.LOL
