Asking about coding for the parking lights on the new facelift cars. I enabled it on my old 2017 Sportwagen but not sure if the coding carries over to the new facelift cars--us models don't illuminate the dashboard when the parking light/running light function is switched on. I have the upgraded lighting package if that makes a difference.
Basically I want to have parking light, fog, and instruments lit but no main headlights. Is this possible?
Thanks!

Hm, I guess one solution would be to get a Euro switch? This is a switch with the rear fog functionality. But more importantly, it lets you select “running lights” the position between Auto and Low beam, and also pull out for front fog lights. I think this would accomplish what you’d like.

I have the upgraded lighting package if that makes a difference. Basically I want to have parking light, fog, and instruments lit but no main headlights. Is this possible? Thanks! hmmm..... there's quite a few different wants in your post. I respond to the dashboard lighting question 1 To "illuminate the dashboard when the parking light is switched on" - go to the Dashboard module @ hex17- go to adaptations - search for Illumination_algorithm - select Scale_switching_algorithm - change to lds - the security code, is 47115
2 To "illuminate the dashboard when the running light function is switched on" - go to the Dashboard module @ hex17- go to adaptations -search for dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial _day - there are 6 x channels under this group as follows:
dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y1 dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y2 dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y3 dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y4 dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y5 dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_clock_dial_day-Y6
These channels define set-points for the illumination level of the clock dials at different daylight levels in the cabin (the lower the "Y" number, the less the cabin daylight level) and the value for each channel sets the illumination level on the clock-dials (the higher the value, the greater the clock-dial illumination level). The permissible values for these channels are 0 to 64 (note: these are hexadecimal numbers - hex64= decimal 100). Take note of the factory settings (in case you need to revert the values back) - increase the values on each channel to suit your liking (for example, setting ALL channels to 64 gives maximum illumination at all cabin light levels) - the security code is 47115

Perfect thanks Don and 2018GTI--It's interesting that I'd have to get a Euro switch as mine has a position next to Auto that to me looks just like the parking light switch on the Euro one as well as a pull out function for front fogs . I'm guessing the Euro switch allows running parking lights + fogs while for some dumb reason the US switch, which looks identical to the Euro one [except for rear fog option after 2nd pull], does not allow fogs to run with running/parking lights.
Will try both suggestions above!
