The most tricky thing is running the harness through to the headunit from the tailgate. But a quick google and theres videos on where all the fixings are.
I ordered mine from a VW dealer, it calls to cut off the original connector, for the badge/lock but i found the opposite connector on ebay and i just connected this to the new harness and plugged it in.
The instructions also call fro the fusebox to be pulled out but i just used a piggy back fuse instead.
Regards Scott

Regards Scott I think he’s talking about the high line, which also has to be connected via canbus rather than splicing into the reverse light wire, plus a lot of the high lines seem to come unprogrammed and need to go to a Odis dealer to be programmed

Does the normal reverse camera not need coding, but will still appear on screen? I know the guidelines don't move on the basic camera.

You have to tell the 5f infotainment it’s there and also the parking sensors, but there’s no programming as it’s just hardware, basically the same amount of work as the high line as you still have to run wires to behind the glovebox/fuse box

How do you tell infotainment system is there vcds? Would this be exactly the same amount of work as the highline? Just wanted to try & adapt to my gte

Just a setting in the 5f module, I think it’s under long coding, Remove rear badge Fit new badge Cut wires to unlock Make new wire to unlock Wire to reverse wire (black/blue) (low line cam) Wire loom down to fuse box Connect white/black to blue plug behind stereo in glovebox Connect can wires behind stereo in glove box (high line) Connect earth Connect ignition live in fuse box
Reprogram high line camera with Odis (dealer) Reprogram using obd eleven or vcds
Good luck it’s a good 4 hours to fit (so I’m told, I done it it about a hour because i work with cars and know how to take them apart and put them back together, and mine only needed a video feed loom fitted)

Do you have the coding information using obdeleven, also would this affect my warranty?

Low line
Ok coding for mine was (might be worth going in and checking you actually have the same modules/options tho)
Camera system rear view Long coding Then select the long code up in the top right corner Scroll along using the green arrows at the bottom of the screen till Byte 7 -parking mode (quer) select the box Press and hold the green tick
Infotainment long code Scroll down to byte_19_rear_view_low Change to activated
Then reset the discover pro by pressing and holding the on/off button until the screen goes off then back on again saying welcome to Volkswagen
Hope this helps

Highline reverse camera, as coding to get all the options is different from lowline with less options Lowline Highline (notice the buttons on right hand side to change camera angles/parking space) Make sure 5F-long coding-byte19-bit4 is set to not active Go into 5F adaptions Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2: VPS_0x0B: activated VPS_0x0B_msg_bus: Comfort data bus Then depending on what buttons you have missing go into 6c-long coding correspondence_HMI_RV_mode_1 correspondence_HMI_RV_mode_2 correspondence_HMI_RV_mode_3 correspondence_HMI_RV_mode_5 4 and 6 give you function not available

Sorry to ask yet another question, what would be the correct part numbers of both cameras as I have nearly a 2018 car. Also could I buy a left hand drive as it wouldn't make a difference would it?? Cheers yet again!

Pretty sure it would be a different harness as one connects to reverse light wire by one wire in the boot, whereas the other connects by two wires behind the stereo in the glovebox, (although I only know RHD cars, so LHD may be different)

Did you connect the black and white to the blue connector correctly? Is it a high line camera or low line?

Mine is a low line camera When I activate the 6c option its black circle and says not responding
For some reason cannot access 6c

ari007 if you have a low line cam it doesn’t have the 6c module, it’s all hardware, put it in reverse 12v goes to the badge and opens badge and puts power to the camera lens which sends the video signal down the co-ax cable to the back of the 5F module and the module displays on the screen, Did you reset the 5f module (hold on/off button for about 10 seconds, did you wire up the co-ax correctly (black and white wire)

Yes everything wired correctly as far as I’m aware - do you have wiring just so I can confirm
Camera opens in reverse gear and displays correct screen just no image It also closes when driving off as it should
One thing that maybe worth pointing out is, when reversed gear is selected then D selected after There is a report sayin Park pilot currently not available

In the picture the guy put different ends on hence why their both black, but it shows you where they should be Have you done the radio reset like I said? What programming have you done? If you don’t answer I won’t be able to help you
