Is there any pro code I can use to make the car beep with the short honk after the first time I lock it? It normally does it but I have to lock it twice to hear the locked confirmation beep. Thanks

If you have prolicense you can check
Module 09 Central Electrics -Adaption --Acknowledgement signals ---Quittierton bei zweitem ZV-ZU-Befehl: not_active (if it says active change it to not_active and see if it solves your question)

I have a related question. I owned a '16 Golf R (NAR spec) and it always locked with the beep on the first press of the door handle. On my new '19 R, it behaves as described above - first touch locks the doors, but no beep. 2nd touch, then I get the beep. According to the owner's manual, the beep means the alarm is set, while no beep means the door is merely locked, but no alarm. So, at least for now, I need 2 touches to get the alarm set.
If I perform the above, it doesn't sound like it's changing that behavior, only causing the beep to sound on the first press. Makes me think that 2 presses are still required to set the alarm. Can anyone confirm this, and if true, can the car be coded to both lock the doo AND set the alarm with a single touch, as my '16 did? Thanks.

After activating my alarm via coding on my NAR 19 GTI, I tested the alarm function by leaving the back window down locking the door and reaching in to open the door (it set off the alarm). Have you tried this? I can give it a go later as I coded the car this way after installing the euro chirp alarm.

Just checked out the behavior of my GTI. The only way I got the alarm to go off is by opening the rear window and locking the GTI. Regardless of the clicks to lock, there looks to be a grace period before the alarm is engaged and it goes off. There is a setting in module 9 that mentions NAR locking, not sure if that makes any difference to the behavior.

If you mean “Autounlock NAR” then that’s actually a different behavior, when that is active, all doors are automatically unlocked when you press Start/Stop to turn the engine off. And personally I think this is dumb behavior so I deactivated it.

Also, if you want the doors to lock when you close them, try this:
B7 - Start system interface Adaptations - internal_passive_entry_exit_byte_1 (search for 'pass' in lowercase or it might not show up) Activate 'passive_exit_door_slam_lock' Save changes - enter code 20103 if it asks.
Then on the infotainment screen: Car > Settings > Reset > Opening and Closing
Not sure if the reset at the end is necessary or not. And this only works on 2019s.
