I was on the never ending quest to change something in my GTI. I saw this adaptation, and thought, COULD THIS BE IT!!!! ? I have a feeling that I may have found a way to display individual tire pressures, but am afraid of screwing it up.. The adaptations are "Tire pressure monitoring display" and "Tire pressure monitoring display, tire selection". Both have a default value of 2, but I can't find anything on this... I am tempted to try 4... Any help is greatly appreciated here, as I would love to be able to get a notifiocation stating that, for example, my left rear tire is low. Opposed to a notification that I have a low tire SOMEWHERE.

I too would be interested in this, I have a MY15 GTD UK spec and it shows generic tyre pressure warning and not the individual tyre, as most of my previous non VW cars showed.
Cheers

^^^^^^ Fellow forum members - Hello! This is one of those instances where we can collectively develop a tweak through "crowd-sourced-knowledge".
My hunch (it's just a guess) is that the ability to identify which tire has low pressure is determined by the adaptation channel Tire pressure monitoring display in the Brakes control module. Can those who have responded by saying that their cars have position reporting please check the setting for this channel? My mk7 doesn't have position reporting and the setting for this channel is 2.
Don
PS: Of course, the other problem that we will need to solve is finding the security code to enable this channel to be changed - but one step at a time!

Hi Don,
I checked mine which is UK MY2015 GTD and its displays only the generic low pressure warning not individual tyres. My settings are "Tire pressure monitoring display =2" and "tire pressure monitoring display, tire selection=2"
Cheers

For this to work, you'd need individual sensors in each tire. I don't know about ROW models, but in the USA, at least as of '15 + up, we only get the ABS-based tire pressure monitoring system - no sensors in the tires, instead relying on measuring wheel speed to generate a tire pressure error. If this is what you have - then you are shit-out-of-luck.

Yes, individual sensors in the tire valve caps do provide much more detail about each of the tire pressures, but this is not what this thread is about!
As far as I'm aware, no mk7 (in any country) has individual pressure transducers on their tires as a standard factory fitting (albeit, it's probably an option that can be purchased and I've seen a set of instructions for retro-fitting these devices). As you probably already know, all mk7s use a calculation of the comparative difference in the rotating diameter of each wheel to initiate the TPMS warning. It does this by taking a signal from the speed sensor on the ABS module from each wheel.
So the mk7 does know which wheel it believes is different from the rest (without individual tire valve transducers fitted). What the mk7 doesn't know is the actual pressure in the deflated tire, but it does know which wheel has a different calculated rolling diameter.
My suspicion is that those vehicles that can locate the position of the deflated wheel use a different "Display" setting - but it's just a guess. Hence my request for information from those that have the position reporting facility
Don
