Hi guys,
Please forgive any apparent stupidity as it’s my first post.
I’ve been reading a lot on here about the different mods I can do to my Mk7.5 golf and just placed an order for the obd device. However the two I’m really interested in are the traffic jam assist and maybe the pACC. I realise that even though through long coding you can turns them on, without the firmware updates to the relevant units it won’t work.
Does anyone know where I could go (South East England) to get someone to update the relevant firmware? The main dealers round here wouldn’t be interested I’m sure.
Thanks for the help!

It’s a 2019 and I’ve currently got ACC, traffic sign / lane assist etc. I guess it’s about hardware more than simply firmware when it comes to the “p” element. The traffic jam assist should be fairly straight forward for them I suppose? There’s a couple that come up in Hitchin - VW Audi Specialist and Herts Car Specialists. Is one of these the one you’d recommend? Never really had good experiences with garages, far too naive! Thanks!

Didn’t recommend fella, just knew he could do firmwares, (vag specialists) easiest thing to do is just phone and ask, sure they’ve done it all before tho, (you need a part number for extras fella 😉)
As for pACC I thought it was for the newest models like wireless CarPlay so would’ve thought mk8 compatibility but I could well be wrong

TJA is possible with VCP. Approaches with ODIS are also possible, but take seriously more effort.
pACC is still almost impossible. There are a handful of guys knowing howto tamper the Swap-Signature algorithm - you will surely find one of the German guys in this forum. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the chinese blackboxes - there is a serious chance this will bring you problems in workshops, at goverment inspections (VIN is tampered afaik) and maybe even brick some functions of your car.

Don’t go cheap Chinese, VCP will hack your modules and activate TJA and I’d presume your dealer wouldn’t even look into it, and it would only get reset if you updated the firmware to the module that had been changed for TJA, but if you got a dealer/Indy to do it it would cost you £300-£400 and be legit

Ive ordered from 3 different places and all of them had the same problem. OP, dealer wont help you with that, only shops with access to VW servers. From what i understand, you can activate pACC but only with the newer style camera which your 2019 has, Only a few people know how to do it.

As ofektal8 pointed out - Parameters for TJA for example are only avaliable to legit interfaces - they generally do not come below 200€. You will also get access to their forum, where TJA enabling is documented. For overwriting parameters the dealers/workshops would have to start replacement procedures for the camera in their software - likely this will not happen I never seen an Volkswagen offer to enable TJA - so an workshop with an big VW-Logo, only working by VW's instruction is not helpful. Oh and stay away from China Stuff for pACC. Most dealers do not even know what they are selling, so support will be zero if something goes wrong - and it will go wrong...
