Hey guys, I am new to VW world, did the 30 color ambient lighting mod to my golf R directly from obdeleven app, and of course the LED strip in the door sills is only capable displaying blue color. Now I am fine with just changing the colors of my instrument panel and infotainment system, but for some reason my rear door sill LED strip won't come on at all (it was on before the mod). Did my research on Google and couldn't find anything. Any ideas of where to go for re-enabling those light strips? Thanks in advance!

You could try going to the brightness slider and sliding that up and down

Tell you what, why don’t you do my mod for independent lighting then you can adjust the brightness individually
See if that brings the lights on

Already tried it, doesnt change anything. Well, in my 2019 Golf R, I didn't see any light strip in those two back doors, only have them in the front.

Ok I did a little reading and it said that the sill LEDs come from the door controllers and are controlled by exit lights So maybe check Module 42 & 52 Long Coding Byte1 Bit2 (should be ticked)

My 2018 R only has ambient lights in the front doors I don’t think he’s talking about the doors, I think he’s talking about cill (sill) strips

I have a 2019 Golf GTI. I added the 30 Ambient Lighting with the OBDEleven App. I changes the Virtual Display Colours but not the Doors. I can see its added the Interior Lighting but the 2 Cogs aren't showing for me to select the Doors or Foot well. I followed the video to update the Ambient Lighting in Adaptations as it showed 11111111 but when I pressed on the green Plus symbol it said password needs to be 5 digits. Do I need to have Pro Level for Adaptations? Any advice would be much appreciated Martin

What colour are the LEDS in the doors? Did you get a long list of numbers? Normally the top one does it, yes you need pro

Yes it did look like the Screen Shot you showed. I will upgrade to the Pro version so I can use the Adaptations. if its not too much to upgrade I'll do that or get the Gen 2 version if the Upgrade is expensive. The video above showed in the Interior Lighting Parameter, Changing 2 lines to 11111111 adds the 2 Cogs in the Ambient Lighting Cabin View on the centre Display Screen.

Hi, Thanks for your Reply. I'll have to try again as I'm not sure if there was a long list of numbers. I know I just selected "Enter" with the Default User Name and Pass Word, I'm sure there wasn't a long list of new numbers but I may be wrong. I'm sure the OBDEleven I have isn't the Pro version so I might need to Upgrade.

Hi all. New member and hope this is ok to post on this thread. Is it possible to add this Ambient Light mod to a 7.5 GTE Advance? I would like to be able to change the colour on the Active Info Display. Thanks.

Should be, but maybe ask in the electric section to make sure there’s no side effects,

Sometimes if one of the switches is set differently to what the app expects it will come up not supported, you might have to go in and change it manually, (it’s always best to do manually rather than a app)

Sorry to bump this, but is there way to dim or disable blue led strip on driver/passenger door frame at bottom? I know how to disable door led strip and footwell but not the lower blue led strip on door frames. Sill led strips i believe. dv52 (Australia) perhaps you know?

Chris: I assume that your words "Sill LED strips" refer-to what is more generally known as "Sill lights"! If so, these lights on the passenger/driver door modules are called Ausstiegs-Warnleuchte, or in English "Exit warning light".
Again if we are both talking about the same lights - the door modules are NOT able to vary the illumination level of these lamps. Module control is simply OFF, or ON (at full illumination).
But, the way to disable the lamps entirely is to tell the modules that the car does NOT have exit warning lights, This is done via the long-code string on the door modules - change:
If you prefer to use OBD11's descriptor option for the long-code string - change: - door_exit_light = not active
Don
PS: If you really want to "dim" these lamps, it should be very easy to do so via the simple addition of a resistor in series with one of the power-supply wires. You can choose the level of dimming via the ohm value of the resistor. These LED strips don't draw much electrical amps, so the power-rating of the resistor shouldn't be large.

Found it, you can disable here Module 42 & 52 Long Coding Byte1 Bit2 (should be ticked) It actually shows door exit light. I set this to disabled
