Hello guys, recently I changed my Discover Media unit with a more powerful and modern Discover Pro unit with new screen. I have a regular and paid Car-Net subscription but I can’t connect it to online services and insert the verification code. My discover pro unit has SIM slot and I installed all the antennas and cables needed. Someone says it is about coding but I don’t know what item or adaption is responsible in Car-Net feature. All the fecs and CP unlock have been done by a retrofitter. Anybody can help? Thanks

I think the problem is in the VW servers. In this your vehicle with your niv and your discover media old are paired.
The VW servers don’t wanna that you retrofit the discover pro in your vehicle.
i have the same problem....

Yeah I think that the old discover media remained paired with my VIN and with Car-Net contract. So there is no coding or adaption related to Car-Net feature? Thanks

^^^ hmm........ always tricky diagnosing problems when a third party (i.e. non OEM) module is involved - particularly in this case when a confounding issue is something like how Component Protection error was actually solved (i.e. hacked). Here's a short extract from VW about Car Net feature in Golf mk7s: Prerequisites for the use of Car-Net in the Golf GTI/GTD To ensure online information can be transmitted to the vehicle directly, certain prerequisites must be satisfied. The following equipment features are required for the use of Car-Net: • the radio navigation system “Discover Pro” with “Premium” mobile telephone interface • a Car-Net licence The Car-Net licence is required to be able to use the available data. It must be selected with the vehicle configuration, and is automatically activated and linked to the vehicle once the vehicle has been manufactured.
The last (highlighted) bit strongly suggests that the authorization codes for car-net are part of the module firmware (like SWAP, or FEC) most likely tied to the car's VIN - as has already been mentioned.
Alas, I suspect that the only way to address this problem (assuming that it can be fixed) is to go back to the equipment manufacturer, and/or the "retrofitter" who tinkered with the CP error.

I have a regular CarNet license and swap/FeC active also because my car have it stock from factory. So there is not solution for this?
