Mirror dip can work without memory seats but it's not worth it in my eyes. Do you have PRO version? If yes you can try to code these functions manually

Why do you say it’s not worth. As long as it works every time I put my car in reverse I will be happy. If you’re saying it’s not worth it because it’s going to keep crashing/ Not working to the point where I have to manually change it every day or every other day then you’re right... But is that the case? If that’s not the case then how would I get it to work🤓

With memory seats: Mirror dip works fine and the mirror moves to the right positions. The mirror positions are stored in the memory. Without memory seats: Mirror dip works aswell BUT the mirror won't move to the right positions => useless in my eyes cause you need to adjust the mirror everytime when you go in reverse. (I tried it with an Skoda Octavia 2016 without memory seats and it was not working well.) You can test it if you want(Mirror dip): 1) Select ECU 52 (Passenger door) 2) Long coding 3) Byte 04 4) Activate Bit 2 and 3 For the key fob are you sure that it doesn't work i thought this is standard nowadays. (Maybe you need to click once and then click again and hold) For comfort opening/closing you can try this: sites.google.com/a/naturalnetworks.ca/vw-golf-mk7-vcds-how-to/comfort/window-open-close

No problem that's what we're here for Let me know if it works. Maybe the comfort coding is different for your car. And of course always do a backup before you start coding

Just check if you have access control 2 before you do anything as I’d say a 2017 should have ZV menus (just so you don’t panic and think you’ve done something wrong when you can’t find them)

I’m sure don will be along in a bit to explain how to find out if your mirrors have got a memory module or not, he’s a good ol boy 👍

You are 100% correct with the "ol" part - but the "boy" bit is incorrect and "good" is the only word from the movie title The Good, The Bad and The Ugly that doesn't describe me!!!
Don
If you have a memory unit, the X/Y coordinate settings might be different than in the picture (this depends on the actual mirror position when the test was done) - but the settings can't be 255 (which is hexFF, or binary 1111 1111)

^^^^^ Ghostspiffy: Hi.
if only it were that easy!!!!
You can't "install it" (the mirror memory module) by just setting the Bits on the door module's long code - it doesn't work that way!
You need to physically install a mirror with a memory module AND THEN you need to set the Bits in the door module long code. These Bits are simply software switches that tell the door module to start using the new equipment (memory module).

Don Yeah I figured OK so I went to door Electronics passenger side Then long codingThen I put byte 04 But then it doesn’t give me the option to put bit 1&2 on The only time I can put the bit 1 and 2 iis when I am at byte 00. Can you tell me what I need to do to get it to work in the Long coding. Thanks

^^^^^ I don't quite understand what you are saying (my fault - Aussie English isn't the same as normal English) - but why don't you switch from Byte/Bit mode to the descriptor mode of the long-coding function in ODB11 (it's done by selecting the 0/1 symbol on th top RHS of the screen - left side of the "?" in the screen shot below)? But as I have said often in my posts above - if you don't have the memory module, the tweak will be problematic Don

I have just followed through this and checked my own as I have this function but it stopped working a while ago.
I spoke to VW, they said it needed a software fix applied to it - it’s unlikely it’s the motor they said (which surprises me since the car is almost 8 years old) but OBD says no fault coming from ANY system in the passenger side.
Is it worth turning these features off in OBD to clear them and then turning them on again? I’m not exactly sure what it is the guy at VW was alluding to them actually doing if I took it into them (which I had very little intention of actually doing).

@ith0ms0n: Looks like I'm following you round this forum!!
If you have confirmed that the memory module is installed and that the long-code software switches (in my screenshot above) is correctly set then it really wont help to turn-OFF/ON the settings. Perhaps a couple of non-OBD11 checks to confirm that everything is OK:
- do you have the mirror adjustment switch pointing to passenger side
Press the CAR button on the escutcheon plate of the center display
Select setup (looks like a gear-cog) on the lower RHS of the screen to open the Vehicle settings menu Navigate to Mirror and wiper settings and select Mirrors - is mirror-dip set to active?
