Most recent update added this as one of the one click apps...it's a 100 points to use it.

hmm........... It's just a real easy Headlight aiming procedure, a change to a single adaptation channel and a single coding change. Why would anyone pay 100 credits for such a simple tweak? What am I missing?

Not 100 for aiming, 100 for auto high beam.

Even enabling light assist is pretty simply as well. You just need to change 1 adaptation and 2 coding and that's it. Not 100 credit worthy.
A5 is important that you don't select Dynamic High Beam Assist unless you have the shutter in your headlight. I did that by mistake and I have to disconnect the battery for system to accept the correct code, other wise I get 'fault:High beam assist' in MFD.
Btw, I did mine with light switch to OFF.

Just did it myself as I found the 100 a bit rich for me. I would've just been happy paying 10. Upside is I got over my fear of coding myself - it is very easy to do. I should get a chance to see it in action tomorrow night.
Thanks everyone!

I initially just switched my car from NAR to ECE, then got an error afterwards. Tried switching back to NAR - error still present. So I bit the bullet and did the app to enable it, which gives me an error upon completion in the OBDeleven app - but the coding seems to have taken as I now have the option in my MIB2 menu. However I get an error in the center display still This thread talks about getting rid of the error with VCDS... forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?8086913-R-questions&p=98594465&viewfull=1#post98594465After setting this, you will get an AFS error in controller 55 (“Headlight - Missing Calibration / Basic Setting”). To clear it, you have to perform a calibration: Make sure you're parked on a level surface. Click Select Controller Go to 55 - (Headlight Aim Control) Go to Basic Settings - 04 Then in the drop down list, select the adaptation/adjustment option (its the only one in the drop down). Then click the ON/OFF/NEXT button. How do I do this as simply as possible with OBDeleven? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

^^^^ Spudboy: I don't have a hex55 module on my car, but it can't be much different with obd11 Here's more detailed instructions Don Headlight AdjustmentPrerequisite: - Vehicle must be parked on level ground and settled on its suspension
- Ignition must be switched-on without engine running
Procedure:- Select Xenon Range (address hex55)
- Select Basic Settings
- Select Basic headlamp setting
- Activate the Basic Setting.
- If resetting, go to step VI., or if realigning headlights- adjust the headlights using their manual adjusting screws as referenced against a suitable aiming target.
- Stop the procedure after any needed mechanical adjustments are completed.
- Select Acknowledge basic setting and activate the Basic Setting
The adjustment should now be learned. Don't forget to check/clear fault codes afterwards.

Mod, I just tried your suggestion, other than making any actual adjustments at the lights as it's not necessary, but after activating the basic setting, it stays at "not active". Then when attempting to acknowledge the basic setting, I get an error saying that it can't be done, I'm doing it out of sequence - not surprising since it seems to think the lights are "not active". Any other ideas?

Yes, tried this procedure, can't get the basic setting to stick, says "not active". Also replied in the other thread at the top - sorry for spreading this all over.

Car was running when I tried. The procedure should be done with ignition on only - not engine running

I'll try it Monday with the ignition off. Dumbass me left the dongle plugged in yesterday, went back home today and battery was dead. Jumped it from my other car and ran around about an hour to charge it back up. Will wait till it's more completely charged to attempt to use OBDEleven again.
But I did manage to set the GF's '15 Golf TDI to "hot climate" setting on the AC, so I've got that going for me, which is nice. Was inexplicably set to "normal" - which here in Phoenix is a laugh. My R was set for hot climate from the factory. VW seems to be totally inconsistent how they set this parameter.

I just tried it again - I can't get past trying to set the basic headlight setting. It hangs at "loading..." and never brings up a basic setting. I can't long code any more either - previously I was able to set NAR to ECE and back again, now when I try "coding" it spins for about 15 seconds, then just comes back out to the menu without any error message. I tried with ignition off, on, lights off, on, and all combinations of those - same results every time.
Any other suggestions on what to try? I'm stuck with this light module error and I ASSume my AFS functions are all disabled while it's in this mode. Would setting the basic headlight setting with VCDS be a viable option at this point?

*bump*
Anyone have any ideas here? I don't know what else to do at this point but to find a VCDS cable and attempt to reset the basic headlight value that way, and hope it works. Or I could try long coding with OBDeleven, if I knew exactly what/how to do it.

Bumpity-bump. Still stuck. Can anyone tell me how to try to do the basic setting for the lights via the adaptations menu? Trying to set it "the easy way" just isn't taking. I've gotten past the "loading..." point, where I was stuck at first (see my earlier reply in thread), but now when I try to do the basic setting, it comes back with "not active", and nothing I've tried changes that. Set to ECE or NAR, no difference. Ignition on or off, headlights on/off/auto, I've tried all combinations - no love.
So is there some other way to try to force the same basic setting that's required, a more manual procedure perhaps?

Update: I've been driving around with an AFS error that was popping up about 30 seconds after starting the car, since attempting to get this working. Today I downloaded the latest version of OBDeleven and there is now an app for correcting the basic headlight setting error, which I'm pretty sure is new. Ran it and sure enough it got rid of the error. Yay!
But - I still can't use light assist. When I flick the high beams on, I get a light assist error if I have it enabled. The high beams then function as normal without light assist.
I tried going back and getting the car to accept the basic light settings, but again get the error I was originally getting, that the car doesn't acknowledge basic settings to acknowledge. Then I get the AFS error all over again, and had to fix it via the app a second time.
Does anyone know how I can get light assist working properly now? I'm closer - it's enabled and I see it on the MIB2 menu, but can't get it to work. Thanks!

spudboy53b: Not sure if will help. but I've enclosed below a copy of an adaptation channel control map for the hexA5 module from a mk7 that has light assist active. So, this is a FULL listing of all of the adaptation channels in the module including their settings
I suggest that you look through list and where you find adaption channels that "feel" like they apply to light assist function, check the settings on your car. For example, the adaptation channel Main_Beam_Assist_Urban_Area_Detection has a setting of On
Keep a track of what changes you make, so you can revert the settings if needed
