Is this a procedure to be done by only one person, or is it still just like the good old days where one person operates the brake pedal while someone else opens and closes each bleed screw. It would be so cool if I could do this myself without needing a friend's assistance.
I tried bleeding and in my b7 audi a4. Won't let me go into basic setting without a login code. Any idea??? When I go into output test, it goes through a similar sequence. But doesn't mention opening bleed screw. I ran through without doing so, and seemed to help. Got much more pedal back. But not quite what it should be. Can you clarify anything please. I posted about this in b7 section a few weeks ago, but must not me checked very often. Thanx.

This is for those who have Vag.com/Ross-Tech. I wish people would stop giving incorrect information when this is a OBDEleven forum which is a different system completely. What OBDEleven seems to lack is explanation on how to do things. From what I can see on the app is you go to 03Brakes -->Basic settings and then in the drop down its either bleed brakes or scroll to the bottom and select fill/bleed brake system. Not sure which one activates the abs pump

What you've said here is incorrect. The interfaces are different and may have different "names" for the functions, but the process is still the same. I have both a Genuine VCDS cable, and OBDeleven, and can confirm that the VCDS steps are still applicable. There is a thread here somewhere on this forum that highlights the aesthetic differences in the menu options, but their equivalence to those shown in VCDS.
Your understanding of the OBDeleven steps for the ABS is correct, as they both activate the ABS pump, so you can safely use either one (with the engine running). Based on your own understanding above, you would have realized that OBDeleven even simplified the set of steps outlined in VCDS.
So therefore people should check their workshop manual for their vehicle model for the correct sequence
^^^What you say here is actually correct. The issue I have is that in Jamaica we swap various ABS modules around between LHD and RHD vehicles, so the order that the (original) ABS unit uses does not always follow what the workshop manual states (when operated in the sequential pattern).

You have to press the pedal HARD. Seriously, pound the pedal like you're about to drive over a cliff. Remember to hold the pedal down!"
Do you mean to hold it down as hard as you can once it begins to push back? I've given it resistance but not with as much force as I could and the pedal definitely comes up some. Should I be trying to keep it all the way down as it pushes back?
