Hi all,
I tried to read out my son's and my girlfriends golf MK4 both with ALH engine (1998 the other 1999) and the dongle wont start up in any car, also no red led shining. If i try it in my 2014 Touareg of my 2004 Multivan there is no problem, also see the power led glowing up and within a couple seconds the connection is made. But with the Golf there is no red led shining at all.
Any of you have an option ?

If the dongle is working on other cars it shouldn't be a device problem.
Have you checked the OBD port of the cars? Maybe the problem is there(dirt etc). Have you tried using another software like vcds or a elm327 scanner?

Vag-com 409 works perfect with an wired cable, I don't have an ELM327. I'm thinking that it might has some to do with powering the device over the obd connector, the wired dongle don't need external power but the bluetooth does  |
