Hi,
How can I reset the volkswagen service and inspection light using the pro app and obdeleven? I've ordered the device and am waiting it's arrival, but this will be the first thing I get done.
Can't seem to find the answer anywhere. No doubt someone will show me a forum I've missed.
Any ideas?

P.s just to be clear I'm not looking to use the credit system to do it.

Very good question !!! Unfortunately, mk7 control modules use UDS protocol. This means that these vehicles don't have a simple, one-screen facility to reset the SRI warning message. Instead, it's necessary to access 2 x adaptation channels that reside in the Dash Board control module (@ address Hex17). Hopefully, my graphic below is self explanatory in demonstrating this process - note: no security access number needed. Don PS: on some cars, it may be necessary to cycle the ignition key a few times to remove the SRI message from the MFD!  |

Isn't there something in the manual to reset this ? ... I know my 6C GTI has it...

^^^^^ Harry. Hi. Yeah - you mean the method where you press and hold the 0.0 button then switch-on the ignition, then press the 0.0 button again?
Never worked for me. But it might work on your mk7. After the oil/filter is changed, I always like to confirm that the settings in the two adaptation channels in my screen shot above are set to zero - it's comforting IMO !!

Isn't there something in the manual to reset this ? ... I know my 6C GTI has it... Yeah there is but on the mk7 there are two resets...ones for the oil change and the second is a VW inspection service...which does nother switch off with the method you described. Dee |
