Any videos of what this does ARI: hmm................ A video is kind-of superfluous because I very much doubt that it will give you any more information!
Turn-on with hazard warning flashers means that the 3rd Brake light (the light above the hatch window) is illuminated whenever you press the hazard flashers (the button on the dash with the triangle).
Turn-on with central locking means that the 3rd Brake light (the light above the hatch window) flashes when you open and close the car doors with the key fob. It exactly replicates the behaviour of the turn signal lamps when using the key-fob : that is, the 3rd brake light flashes once for door-close and it flashes twice for door-open.
Turn-on when reversing means that the 3rd Brake light (the light above the hatch window) is illuminated whenever reverse gear is selected. It exactly replicates the behaviour of the reversing light(s).
What more explanation do you need?

Is there any way to make the 3rd brake flash or pulse when reversing?
Is there also a way to make it flash when brake is applied? I've seen the option of making them flash but only when harsh braking is applied (not sure if it even works)

Don (or other) -- If I am tracking this correctly, "Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken" basically means that the light should be on SOLID whenever the "dynamic turn signal" ("Außenlicht_Blinker" in new models) adaptation is triggered. The fact that it comes on SOLID is why you have the higher priority C/D channels set to MINIMIZE the light during the "dark" phase of the turn signal cycles. Is that right? Relatedly, has anyone pieced together what all of the Außenlicht_Blinker channels do? Below are the Außenlicht_Blinker adaptation channels I have and what I can figure out they do, but obviously I don't know what most of them are. ABBA_Blinken | ? | Abbruch Komfortblinken | ? | Blinkkontrolleuchte fuer Anhaenger, separte | ? | Crash flashing | ? | DWA_Alarm_Blinken | ? | DWA_Schaerfungsquittung | ? | DWA_Schaerfungsquittung | ? | dynamisch_blinken_10 | ? | Dynamische_Blink_Delay | ? | Emergency_alert_blinken | ? | Komfortblinken

The fact that it comes on SOLID is why you have the higher priority C/D channels set to MINIMIZE the light during the "dark" phase of the turn signal cycles. Is that right? Atlas: I really don't have any official information from VW regarding the way that their leuchte-commands operate - it's all a guess from me!! However, I believe that the dynamic turn signal facility is a 2 x step process like this: - The cable user can choose what ever Dyn. turn signal mode that he/she wants by setting the associated adaptation channel to active. There is no limit on how many "modes" can be selected - all 20 x modes can be set to active if desired.
- Having enabled the particular facility. the second step is to decide which lights will be used for that facility. This is determined by the Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken command. When this command is entered into an adaptation channel, the lamp that is connected to the particular BCM pin for that leuchte-set will be illuminated FOR ALL modes that have been activated.
From then-on, the normal rules for leuchte-programming prevail about priority. The use and position of the dunkelphase commands are necessary to make the 3rd brake light flash. In general, I really didn't consider the potential for conflict with the lock/unlock mode because the car will be stationary when this mode is used. For reversing mode, I gave the dyn mode the same priority as the brake light, but I suspect this really doesn't matter

Thank you. That all makes sense, but I wonder if there is any collective community wisdom about what each dyn. turn signal mode means (or, in newer vehicles, the corresponding the "Außenlicht_Blinker" channel). Some, like the ones used in your mods below, seem to have been figured out but others seem to be mysterious. For example, what is "ABBA_Blinken" and "Dynamische_Blink_Delay"? What is "crash_flashing" and how is it different than the feature, which I am sure is enabled, that turns on hazards after an airbag deployment?

ABBA_Blinken is a feature which automatically strobes tail lights in tempo when “Dancing Queen” comes on the radio.

I know this post was last active 5 years ago.....but I have loaded this on a Mk7.5 and all seems to work ok
However...
The central brake light now flashes with A). the hazard warning lights (both directional indicators) and B.) with either the left or right hand directional indicator. I am happy with B). so long as the car is stationery but not if it is on the move. Is there a setting which prevents the Brake light from flashing when a Directional Indicator has been applied if the car is on the move?

@pathfinder: hmmm......... I wanted to see screenshots of the Leuchte-set (i.e. a photo of the actual OBD11 screen) because that confirms the setting that has been used. No offense intended, but its possible to make errors because there are some similarly named Leuchte-commands that can be chosen.
For this tweak, the channels that stop the left/right turn-signal (as distinct from the hazard warning light signal) from lighting-up the brake light are
Lichtfunktion C 22 > Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D 22> Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Dimmwert CD 22 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 22 > minimize
If you are convinced that these channels are set correctly - I have no suggestions, alas

Question, i have activated the third brake light and the turn signals when the boot lid is open but now the third brake light is on when i turn left or right with the turn signal on.
What can be the fault.

dv52 (Australia) I have recently purchased and installed the aerofabb competition spoiler. It removes the third brake light from the vehicle. I now receive the little lightbulb in the dash, right next to my Collision assist not available light, these two notifications constantly take over that bottom right corner of my screen where the trip computer is. Do you know of a way to disable one of both of those warning lights? Collision sensor needs an alignment as the bumper has been off, third brake light is removed from the car. 2019 GTI SE if it makes a difference

weiberhase01 : hmm......... for the 3rd brake light - disable the Leuchte-set that controls the lamp. The correct way of doing this is like this: Central electrics module (hex09)
Leuchte22BR MA57 Lasttyp 22 > nicht aktiv Lampendefektbitposition 22 > 0 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 22 > 0 Lichtfunktion A 22 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion B 22 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert AB 22 > 0 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 22 > Always Lichtfunktion C 22 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion D 22 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert CD 22 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 22 > maximize Lichtfunktion E 22 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion F 22 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 22 > 0 Dimming Direction EF 22 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 22 > nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion H 22 > nicht aktiv Dimmwert GH 22 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 22 > maximize
As for "collision assist" - we might have a problem with the definition of terms? Are you referring to crossroad assistant which is the facility whereby the driver is warned if a car is approaching when reversing?

I will try those settings sometime this week. Thanks for that.
I believe the official name for the malfunctioning system is the “front collision assist” or “front collision avoidance” it uses the sensor in the VW logo on the front bumper to control automatic braking in an emergency situation. I had some repairs done and the bumper was removed and reinstalled. That has evidently gotten the sensor out of alignment and now there is constantly a dash light on. It’s a triangle with an exclamation point in it and also a small symbol on the screen between the gauges of a car avoiding a collision. The two lights come on and stay on even though it have turned off the system in the cars settings of the head unit. Just curious if there’s a way to disable the system or those lights. Eventually I’ll go have the sensor realigned and it will go away but it’ll be a while and would be nice to have no lights.
