It is possible that the wrong version navigation SD card is with the car. Also, when replacing a radio or J794, the new unit may require a different version navigation SD card. There are currently 3 part # suffixes available, “R”, “AC”and “B”.Install the other suffix SD card that is currently with the car,
clear any faults in address word 5F and perform a hard reboot on the radio (hold radio power down for 10-20 seconds) to restore navigation function.
Audi Condition
• The navigation function is not available, and the message “The navigation data are not activated” appears in the MMI. •DTC B126CF2 (Navigation system navigation database not enabled) is set in the information electronics control module, J794 (address word 5F).
Technical Background Navigation is a feature of the MMI that requires a license activation using SVM. The process is handled by the gateway and the MMI inside the vehicle.
In some instances, the feature can be affected if the gateway is placed into “Component Protection Showroom Mode” or if the gateway and MMI lose communication with each other.
As a result, either the license activation must be performed again online using SVM or the component protection removal must be performed.

History is as follows:
Initial discover media head unit replaced by discover pro unit which had component protection removed, not sure what sort of vehicle the head unit came from. All works well, nav, voice, Android auto and hdd music storage.
I have tried to update the vw nav database but it fails every time. Is this related to the error above??
