Just wanted to share a post from the golfmk7 formum on how to remove Torque limiter. Works with the OBDeleven as well. Enter Control Unit 03 --> Brake 1 --> Adaptions --> "Starting Vibration reduction" Change value from "Strong" to "Deactivate" (or "Normal" depending on model) Original thread here.

My 15 DSG has only normal as a reduced function choice, deactivate is not a selection. Is there long coding that can be done instead?

I would also like to know what this does? I assume it allows you to just keep red lining your car to the point where you have extra power but if you take the Michael you'll blow it up?

I deactivated mine. Now there is no longer a power cut in 1-3 while launching hard. I finally am able to use all the power I paid for and my wagen is much quicker off the line and out of corners.

In the eyes of a dealership, are tweaks like this views the same as a flash tune in regards to warranty?

In the eyes of a dealership, are tweaks like this views the same as a flash tune in regards to warranty? With regards to warranty, I spoke with SEAT Customer services and there response was We would recommend that any alterations made to a vehicle or any parts used on your vehicle should be SEAT approved. If this recommendation is not followed and a non SEAT approved part/accessory is used on your vehicle and a fault occurs as a result of the use of this component then your warranty will be void. If also you turned on any features of a component that did not come as standard on your vehicle and that component broke the cost will not be covered by SEAT and in doing so the warranty on any related parts can also be affected. In the US there is a law called Magnuson-Moss Act and from a Golf Forum the following says the same thing. The purpose of the Magnuson-Moss Act is so legally protect a consumer from a manufacturer trying to void your warranty for using aftermarket parts or services without proving it to be the cause of the failure. The confusion seems to stem from the term "aftermarket.” Aftermarket does not mean aftermarket modifications made to a vehicle, it applies only to direct replacement and maintenance parts made by somebody other than the manufacturer. If the manufacturer tries to say your warranty is void because you got your oil changed at Jiffy Lube instead of at a dealership, the Magnuson-Moss Act would protect you and they would have to prove that the aftermarket oil change caused whatever failed to fail. If you modify their product to perform outside of it's original specified operating range they have ZERO obligation to "prove" that your modifications caused of the failure. If you push it all the way to court, it's as simple as "it wasn't designed for that” and it’s an open and shut case. It still holds true they can't deny warranty coverage on something unrelated, if you have a chipped ECM and your radio display stops working they still need to cover your radio under warranty. But, when you modify the engine to add power the burden of proof is no longer on them for ANY powertrain failure because it wasn't designed to handle the higher loads and stresses than the factory stock XXXhp provides. Legally making anything operate outside of it’s factory stock specified range that is reason enough that the manufacturer does not have to honor the warranty. And from the Audi Forums Reading through the audi post www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread.../#post-3174286 there appear to be 4 codes for you to worry about if you are in warranty or extended warranty. TD1 - Which we all know about TG1 - Modification to gearbox control unit (which obviously happens more now) TE1 - Modification to power electronics - I can only presume that is VCDS/OBD11 or is it to do with the map being applied - any ideas TB1 - Suspected tuning with a tuning box - so I wonder how that works.

gameitup I do not believe its an ECO setting as its in the Brake Control Module, My understanding (and I am not an expert) is that on the Front Wheel Drive cars VW have implimented a control that applies the brakes when you are in 1st, 2nd & 3rd to avoid wheel spin under power. All this change is doing is removing that function so you can push it as hard as you like and the car will not try and slow you down. Have a read of this article if you want to understand in more detail.
