How do I get my fog lights to come on with drl without dimming (so drl and fog lights on - switch in off position, fog lights on with drl and drl only wink for turn signal. Drl and fog light function should be same when in parking light position ( parking lights on - drl at same brightness, drl dim for fog lights on and also dim for turn signals

^^^ hmm........ not all fog light fittings on a mk7 are created equal and the Leutche-sets for the lamps are not all programmed the same.
If the existing settings for Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion B 12 and Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion B 13 are not active - change the value to Tagfahrlicht/Daytime running lights. But if the setting for these channels is Abbiegelicht links/rechts - more information is needed. What type of fog lamps do you have (LED, or incandescent)?

I may change to aftermarket LEDs in the future but i know that shouldn't change anything at this point.

- Lichtfunktion C > Tagfahrlicht/Daytime running lights
- Dimmwert CD > 100

Leuchte4TFL LB4 Leuchte5 TFL RB32 Don Thank you, I'm going to try these when I get home from work tonight. Will keep you posted. So when I turn on the car and release the E brake my DRL come on. When I turn on the switch to Parking Lights, DRL stay the same brightness and Tail Lights come on. When I turn on the Fog Lights with switch in Parking light position my DRL dim. What I'm looking to do is keep the Fog light and DRL function with switch on parking light position (so fog bright and DRL dim) But have full fog brightness and DRL brightness with switch in off position (car on release E brake) and not loose the DRL wink if possible Keep corning Fog Lights when Low beam is on. I will try what you sent tonight and see what happens. thank you

Leuchte4TFL LB4 Leuchte5 TFL RB32 Don Looking back I did not explain the adaptations I was looking for clearly. The ones you gave me got me 90% there. Right now after the changes when I turn on the parking lights the fog lights stay on, DRL dont dim, and tail lights come on. When i pull the switch out for fog lights the DRLs dim. What I was looking for was to keep the parking light function the same as factory. never should have mentioned it lol. So, moving switch to parking lights: DRL at 100 and tail lights on at normal function. no fog. except when I pull the fog light switch out, then fogs on 100 and DRL at 31 If i make: Leuchte12NL LB45 and Leuchte13NL RB5 Lichtfunktion E > nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF > 0 that should fix it? Im going to try that. any advice is greatly appreciated. thank you

^^^ yep that's correct - you are fast becoming a Leuchte programmer - well done!!! Lol. it didnt work, or really it didnt do what i wanted. I didnt notice a change when i set it back to not active and dim 0. was that for the DRL when fog is on? or maybe I need to set the DRL with the parking lights so the fogs are off when parking lights are on. but them Im short a channel for the fogs on and parkings/drls dim. Don would it be better if i sent photos of whats going on and what I want to do?

^^^^^^^ Your want - Drl and fog light function should be same when in parking light position Leuchte12NL LB45 and Leuchte13NL RB5
Lichtfunktion E > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Dimmwert EF > 31
The Leuchte - command Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) will illuminate a lamp in the selected Leuchte-set whenever the rotary light switch is on the parking light position (it won't illuminate the lamp when the parking lights are automatically switched-on with the low-beam headlights). The Dimmwert value in my instructions above simply applies an illumination level equivalent to the DRLs when they operate as parking lights
For my suggested part of the tweak above, the 2 x Leuchte-sets mentioned operate the 2 x front fog lights only. So to answer your first question - "that" was for the front fogs! This means that if you correctly wound-back the settings, the fogs shouldn't illuminate as parking lights (because no such Leuchte-command exists in the Leuchte-sets) .

As you have no doubt observed, the fogs light are programmed for the following light-functions: - Fogs (Nebellicht links - I assume the fog light on the other side uses the "Nebellicht rechts")
- cornering lights (Abbiegelicht links - I assume the fog-light the other side uses the "(Abbiegelicht rechts")
- Daytime running lights (Tagfahrlicht)
With your programming, the only way that the fogs should turn-on with the parking lights is if either the blinker is operated, or the steering wheel is turned - but only on one side (i.e. the cornering light function)
If this continues to be a problem, selectively turn-off each of the 3 x light function above and tell me which function is causing the strange behavior.

turning off Daytime running lights (Tagfahrlicht) shut off the fog lights when switch is in parking light and off position. so not as a drl either. other functions still work. Do we need to change the importance of the Lichtfunktion? Maybe tell the DRL to be a parking light with dimmwort 100 in Lichtfunktion A or B?

^^^ hmm....... I had a further look at this using my VCDS cable and my Audi A3 - it's built on the same MQB platform as the mk7, so it uses the same Leuchte programming system. Interesting findings -thanks for raising the issue. I replicated your settings on my A3, and indeed I get the same effect that you have observed (also - VCDS gives the user 2 x versions of daytime running lights and OBD11 apparently only has one version. See the first part of the screen below - which was used for another purpose) So -changing the priority order in the Lichtfunktion channels shouldn't do anything because the 3 x Leuchte-commands are not in conflict at any time.
But, leave the existing settings and do this: Leuchte12NL LB45 and Leuchte13NL RB5- Lichtfunktion E > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
- Dimmwert EF > 0
- Dimming Direction GH > minimize

Fog lights work as normal when low beams are on. We are very close. Thank you again for your help so far.

Hello,
Can you please explain me what Dimming Direction minimize and maximize means? Is this function for set different function for the same lamp (e.g. HLC10) and how it will react between changes or something completely different?
Thank in advance, Tamas
