I get an error when trying to enter the Engine module, "... no data found"? Read about a tweak to get better throttle response but in order to make that work you need to enter the engine module...

Did work all other modules? Do you have an good internet connection? Yeah I can access all other modules. Tried with engine on, just ignition, but still cant access it. I believe my connection is good, otherwise I would get problems with the other modules as well I guess?

Matrovious: Hello. I don't know the solution to your problem - but more information would help narrow-down the cause. What precisely do you mean by "trying to enter the Engine module" - what are you trying to do? What model mk7 do you have? If you are trying to alter the setting for one of the adaptation channels in the ECU (Engine Control Module), have you entered the correct security code - which is 27971? Is the ECU included in your scan report? If so, post-up the section of the report -please. If the ECU isn't in the scan report, is the ECU included in the Installation list for the CAN Gateway? Look at the list in the screen after you press the red circle on the picture below - the radio button next to Engine Control Module 1 should be enabled. Don

Don There's a tweak I read about that could alter the throttle response by altering an adaption channel in the ECU (engine Control Module). But I cannot enter the module, all I get when trying to enter it is "...no data found". I have entered the security code and my OBD looks more or less like your screenshot, the ECU radio button= green. What do you mean with "if the ECU isn't in the scan report, is the ECU included in the Installation list for the CAN Gateway?"

What do you mean with "if the ECU isn't in the scan report, is the ECU included in the Installation list for the CAN Gateway?" Mastrovious: Hi. OK, first a bit of control module theory! My apology if you know this stuff already - the CAN Gateway is the central control module that directs ALL communications traffic on the car's network (except for the few LIN-based modules). To do this task, the CAN Gateway uses an "Installation List" that contains the identity of all of the car's other control modules (the "list" is actually a bunch of non-volatile memory locations). Unless the control module is registered on the Installation List, it won't be recognized by the CAN Gateway and as a consequence OBD11 can't talk to the module. You can add, or delete control modules from the Installation List by selecting the red-button that I show on my previous post. This is done on the screen-shot below. However, since you say that the ECU is shown on the main control module screen, it must be registered on the CAN Gateway list already - so this can't be the problem in your case! Tell me more about this tweak that you are attempting to implement - which Byte and which Bit do you want to alter? Don

Thank you for the explanation! And yes, I have the ECU registered on the CAN Gateway list. Tell me more about this tweak that you are attempting to implement - which Byte and which Bit do you want to alter? Basically what I'm trying to do is this. I have no idea if the mod actually works but since it's posted in that forum, I thought I'd give it a try.

The exact error message: "Description data not found"
it's displayed on a red banner on the bottom of the screen when I try to enter coding or adaption in the Engine Control Module 1.

mastrovious: Not sure that I can help with this mod (I tried it some time ago - kept getting error messages, so I reverted the code setting to original value). Only advice that I can give is that coding changes to the engine nodule should be done without the engine running (i.e. just ignition switched-on)

Quick question, did you try this mod with the obdeleven or VCDS? Mastrovious: Did it with OBD11 - my recollection is that the changed Byte/Bit produced a non-specific DTC in the engine module (data bus error?) and a related error in the ABS module - I THINK!. Clearly the "Audi" setting needed additional communication between these two modules (CAN messaging) - but this might by related to the type of engine in my mk7 (I have a CHPA) Don
