Hi All, Following on from my thread last year forum.obdeleven.com/thread/4639/help-code-replacement-handbrake-module I am now in a position to scan the car. (I'm often restricted from working on cars due to severe back problems), so I have swapped the EPB module over and had left the battery disconnected for a few days to fully reset anything. I tried the handbrake and it doesn't work with the original EPB module back in, so I need to record the code of this module, then refit the replacement one when my bad back allows and then write the code over it.. Can someone help or direct me to a resource where I can read about how to save codes and then how to overwrite them to the new module, please? Thanks in advance. Steve

Hello, just go to 53 - Parking brake -> Long coding -> copy the old coding then replace the module go again to Long coding and paste the original coding. This should be all.

stevehignett, after replacement and coding you must do the function test and Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor: Function Test Prerequisites: Cycle the Parking Brake ON, then OFF first. [Select] [53 - Parking Brake] [Basic Settings - 04] Group 010 [Go!] Activate the Basic Setting. [ON/OFF/Next] The brake pads are now opening and closing 3 times. Wait 30 seconds after the the brakes stop making noise. [Done, Go Back] [Close Controller, Go Back - 06] Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor (G251) Prerequisites: System voltage at least 12.0 V. Car parked on a level surface. Do NOT move/rock car while performing basic setting. [Select] [53 - Parking Brake] [Basic Settings - 04] Group 020 [Go!] Activate the Basic Setting. [ON/OFF/Next] The status of the Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor (G251) is now being displayed. [Done, Go Back]

How do I access "long coding"? I don't have it as an option in the list for 53 parking brake. I've looked in the Help section and googled, but everything points to it just being an option and I don't have it? My software seems up to date and I paid for the pro version... Hello stevehignett, you can't see the old module or the new one? If you can't see the old module, install the new one and i will try find the coding for you if you tell me the software number of the new one.
