You cant restore a backup, the point of the backkup is so you can manually make changes to change it back to how it was.
For Long Coding you can cut and paste the old coding but adaptions you have to set them as they were.

^^^ To add to Cupra's ALWAYS helpful suggestions - whenever a user is trying to roll-back the settings/code in a control module from a previous change, there is a valuable interplay between OBD11's Back-Up file and the just-as-useful OBD11 History file: both are very useful!! A further suggestion is to have the files in printed form to help in the process of reverting back settings for adaptation channels (this is additional to Cupra's cut-and-paste suggestion). It's important when doing this to MAKE SURE that you select the correct channel - else the magnitude of the problem that you are trying to fix becomes very much bigger!!.
My hint (for what it's worth)- send yourself an email containing the files - then print the 2 x documents and have them available by your side to read when reverting settings. It's easily done like this:
History fileDon

And just to add into this (sorry for assuming how much you know about this subject) Firstly this thread will show you how to copy and paste the long coding data forum.obdeleven.com/post/8922Secondly if you have Excel or some form of spreadsheet tools have a read of this forum.obdeleven.com/post/13240 it will show you how you can compare original backups vs any other backup to see what the differences between the two are. Good Luck

I must be blind... I'd run backups (first thing, before I started changed anything). I can view History. I've successfully emailed History to myself. I've read (and re-read) this thread. I cannot for the life of me find where the Backups were saved, so that I can see the contents... Where/how, please? thanks, and apologies, -Jay

libove Firstly some info that will hopefully help.
If you are using Android then you run the process in one of two ways,
- Firstly a Full Backup, the full backup is saved in your my car menu under history plus each control unit has just the part that relates to that control unit in that history section.
- Secondly as a single control unit backup, this will be saved in the specific control unit history and also in the my car history tab
The difference in how it is saved in the my car history tab is seen easily in the Filter (upside down triangle) you can filter to just show Full backup or Backup.
If you are using IOS then the Full backup is only shown in the My Car history tab but not in the individual control unit history tab.
Apart from a failure of the back the only way you could loose a backup is if you have archived (this can only happen in Android) in which case in Android using the Filter you can select to show archived items as well.
Let me know if you need pictures to make sense.

Aaah, I think I see; the only way to get Backups out of the OBDeleven Android app is by filtering for the desired backup and then tapping the 'envelope' to mail the contents to myself? I'd just assumed that each backup action would produce a local file on my Android device which I could access directly. But, this works, too, if in a slightly roundabout (and must-be-connected-to-the-Internet) way.

Yes but as always with obd11 there are variations.
If you do a full backup then you can email that directly from the history funciton (you can click on full backup and then use the email button).
However for single control unit if you have done many backup and other things and don't do the email on the date then you have to filter, there are date options in the filter as well then as you say you can shrink your history to a smaller file.
FYI All the information about your car is stored on Voltas IT Cloud setup, the only time you get stuff on your phone is when you create a Chart, History or other setup file this link will show you how you find the file on your phone
Update to include the link and point out not checked this on IOS.

Hi there,
I recently purchased an OBD11 and followed the instructions to do a full back up before making changes. When looking at my back up I can only see that it’s showing 19 gateway.
Does that mean it didn’t back everything else up?
I then went ahead and used a few one click apps.
If I want to restore my car back to its stock setting, am I screwed because it only backed the 19 gateway?
Low key panicking atm!!

Just go in history and see if the coding is in there, otherwise undo the apps by using the apps

So my backup only did one control unit? That’s pretty silly.
I can see the apps I’ve enabled. I have heard that using apps aren’t as reliable compared to long coding.
I’m really nervous I can’t get the car back to stock, given my useless backup.

Post up the apps you’ve used and then maybe people will tell you the coding needing to reverse it

Interior lights when opening trunk High beam assist Traffic sign recognition (have lane assist - but shows error “dynamic traffic recognition restricted” Third brake light with unlock/lock DLA presentation Automatic rain closing Taillights as brake lights (led)
So nothing crazy I’d imagine. That’s basically all I wanted to change. I don’t want to change anything to do with the engine, suspension, etc..
