Hi I have 2015 VW polo bluegt composition media with mirrorlink when trying to activate mirrorlink in motion with the one click app the option this greyed out and says not supported any ideas

Yes activation is needed for Mirrorlink functionality.
To see if you have the swap code enabled hold down the MENU button until a new screen appears and select "Function Enabling Codes"
The Installed list are those functions that are activated while the supported list is what functionality is possible through VW activation with possible additional hardware needed.
Meaning of the codes:
00030000 AMI (USB Enable)
00050000 Bluetooth
00060100 Vehicle Data Interface
00060300 Mirror Link
00060800 Apple CarPlay
00060900 Google Android Auto
00070100 SDS ( Speech Dialogue System - Voice Control )
00040100 Navigation
00060200 Infotainment Control
00060400 Sport HMI (Performance Monitor Mode)
00070400 Electronic voice amplifier driver

Ok mirrorlink normally needs to be activated by the manufacturer at time of manufacture, or by a dealer at a later date, as part of app connect, now how this works is it mirrors (some) apps of your android device on the media screen, but soon as you drive off the screen will blank off mirror link on the screen,
Noy the app your trying to activate via Obdeleven, Mirrorlink in motion, does exactly what it says , it lets you see mirrorlink in motion, that’s all, not give you mirrorlink, just not turn off the screen when you drive off,
The way it does that is change the speed from 0 to 255 (mph or km) but via a firmware flash as it needs a code derived by the serial number of the head unit
Another point of this app if it’s anything like Video in motion is that the firmware must be below 1000

By default mirror link is disabled no matter what you do to enable it it cannot be done and there's you visit the dealership to get them to install a new key the key will cost about £250 from our VW dealership so even though you may activate it in the head unit it will not work without going to the dealership...
