Is it possible to code that reverse lights flash out of phase with emergency flashers only when the emergency flashers are engaged?
Thank you!

I've personally not done the tweak that you want to a mk7 FL - but I did write a set of instructions for a very similar lighting effect with the inner rear tail-light on a mk7 Golf. Anyhow, using the same theory, you could try the following: - Select the Central Electrics control module @ address hex09
- select Security Access and enter the magic number 31347
- select Adaptation
- Apply the settings for the 2 x Leuchte-sets Leuchte29RFL RA64 (right-side reversing light) & Leuchte28RFL LC11 (left-side reversing light) as shown below:
Lichtfunktion A > Rueckfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B > Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken Dimmwert AB > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB > only_if_closed Lichtfunktion C > Blinken links Dunkelphase Lichtfunktion D > Blinken rechts Dunkelphase Dimmwert CD > 0 Dimming Direction CD > minimize Lichtfunktion E > Rueckfahrlicht Lichtfunktion F > not active Dimmwert EF > 100 Dimming Direction EF > maximize Lichtfunktion G > not active Lichtfunktion H > not active Dimmwert GH > 0 Dimming Direction GH 29 > maximize
- Change Außenlicht_Blinker
Warnblinken_Zuendung_AUS > active Warnblinken_Zuendung_EIN > active

All the original values in brackets are as you suggested, but my OBD11 crashes every time I try to change the dimmwert values. So, I am seeing if their customer support can help.

Hi Don - I finally got my OBDEleven back from a friend .
Checked out the values and unfortunately Leuchte 29RFL RA64 and 28RFL LC11 values do not match the baseline ones as you prescribed.
Is it a lost cause?
Thank you!

- Make the changes listed below (note: the settings in brackets are the default settings. Check these default values first -do not try the tweak if ALL the default settings on your car are not as shown):
Leuchte29RFL RA64 (right-side reversing light) Lichtfunktion C 29 > Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken (not active) Dimmwert CD 29 > 100 (0) Leuchte28RFL LC11 (left-side reversing light) Lichtfunktion C 28 > Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken (not active) Dimmwert CD 28 > 100 (0) Außenlicht_Blinker ZV_Blinken_auf > active (not active) ZV_Blinken_zu > active (not active)
Don
So... I got this far and the reverse come on STEADILY with flashers. What else to try make them flash in or out of phase with flashers?

In my earlier post, I had confused the meaning of bracketed values with the new values.
After successful programming via OBDEleven, the reverse lights would come on steady if the flashers were on, OR either turn signal.
If I used blinken hell- or dunkelphase, they would blink appropriately with the flashers, but also with the turn signals.

I've changed the adaptation channels in Außenlicht_Blinker in my original instructions (see red colored channels)
So, do this:
1. Return
ZV_Blinken_auf > not active ZV_Blinken_zu > not active 2. Then activate the 2 x red colored channels in my (changed) instructions

Hi Don -
Did everything in the new recommendations and reverse light stays solid during turn signal and flashers.
One thing to note:
ZV_Blinken zu and auf were ALREADY not active. Does that info help?
Thank you!

Ahhh no luck.
With this configuration, the reverse light stays on even with the turn signal (not just flasher) ...now BOTH reverse lights flash, no matter if left or right turn indicator is actuated.

I plan someday to chase summer around the globe as I have endured too many Michigan winters! Melbourne is tops on my travel list!
Thank you for your efforts! I will keep on experimenting, following your methodology and see what happens!
All the best to you Don,
Bill

Hi webtrak, I may have a solution for you. (1) As mentioned above, in Aussenlicht_Blinker, set the following: Warnblinken_Zuendung_EIN: active Warnblinken_Zuendung_AUS: active And try this, to make sure they don't come on when you're just using your regular turn signal (** haven't tried this though - make sure your turn signals still work after this **): ZV_Blinken_zu: not active ZV_Blinken_auf: not active
Richtungs_blinken_rechts: not active Richtungs_blinken_links: not active
(2) In Leuchte28RFL LC11 (left reverse light), make the following changes (shown as ">>>>>>>"): Leuchte28RFL LC11: Lasttyp 28: 43 - allgemeine LED Lampendefektbitposition 28: b Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 28: 31 Lichtfunktion A 28: Rueckfahrlicht >>>>>>> Aktive Blinkfunktion hat ein auf 1 gesetztes zugeordnetes Bit in pa_dynamisch_blinken Lichtfunktion B 28: nicht aktiv Dimmwert AB 28: 127 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 28: always Lichtfunktion C 28: nicht aktiv >>>>>>>> nicht_definiert_4C Lichtfunktion D 28: nicht aktiv Dimmwert CD 28: 0 Dimming Direction CD 28: maximize >>>>>>>> minimize Lichtfunktion E 28: nicht aktiv >>>>>>>> Rueckfahrlicht Lichtfunktion F 28: nicht aktiv Dimmwert EF 28: 0 >>>>>>>> 127 Dimming Direction EF 28: maximize Lichtfunktion G 28: nicht aktiv Lichtfunktion H 28: nicht aktiv Dimmwert GH 28: 0 Dimming Direction GH 28: maximize (3) In Leuchte29RFL RA64, perform the same changes you made to Leuchte28. Should be identical. Hope this works!! Disclaimer: this is just off the top of my head. Test your turn signals and reverse lights afterwards .

Alas.... even with the guidance you provided, the flashers work correctly and the reverse lamps flash out of phase like I want...
BUT
Both reverse lights glow steadily when I indicate left or right. The rear indicators blink correctly.
Sigh.

Out of sheer desperation, I went through each step again. Undid then re-did each one...
SUCCESS!!!!!!
Many thanks to all!!!!
Once I figure out how to post the video I will!
