If you own a VW Tiguan 2016 MK2 car (commonly called a 2017 model), you'll probably already have realised the 'software' feature of selectively de-activating the keyless entry when locking and leaving your car, which has already been highlighted (through locking the car with the keyfob button, then within 5 seconds pressing the door handle lock area) - this wasn't programmed in 2016 model cars.
Not sure of the exact build dates, but this 'software' feature was installed on newer cars built from some time in 2017+
If you're not that bothered about or didn't want keyless entry, but have it installed on your model there are as this and other threads have outlined various solutions. You can also through your dealer (at a cost £) request through the service deptartment, if compatible with your build date - which they would need to check, have your car's KESSY module software updated to the current build which provides the car user selective de-activation feature.
You can also create yourself a different keyless solution for your car through VCDS / OBDeleven coding, you can either: -
The coding to enable this hybrid solution is as below: -
Long coding
Control unit: B7 Access Startsystem Interface
Passive entry frt.pass. door handle:
Old value: activated
New value: Not activated
Passive entry driver door handle:
Old value: activated
New value: Not activated

- Mark as not installed the keyless sensors in the door handles - not really a hybrid more turning it all off or into a keylessGO i.e. only start button still works.
- Or the hybrid solution - mark as not-activated the front driver and passanger door handles for entry ONLY i.e. you can still lock the car with the keyless handles, still use start button, you just can't open the car with the keyless door handles - fobkey open or actual key only.
