I can't find any similar issue thread and need some guidance of any additional troubleshooting I could perform before taking to dealer:
Last week we had a morning that was -13°F, car is stored in a semi heated garage, commuted 20min to work (very cold but no snow on roads) with no issues, left all day in cold(high of ~5°F), on startup within seconds I got ESC Error and then tire pressure error, I hoped it was just the cold but not so lucky
Scanned with OBD11 and get static databus error codes that won't clear/ come back instantly, I'll post my scans below, basically im looking for advise for what else I can troubleshoot, the 1 and only dealer in my area is not very convenient and does not give loaners and also I am just out of 3/36 warranty. Thank you for any help!!
Car is 2016 GTI SE Perf Man W DCC LP
Basically stock besides driver gear springs and simple vcds tweaks that should not be related (no vcds changes since may 2017 besides soundakter level)
Actual issue beside dash errors: Traction control is completely disabled, somehow ABS braking is still functional (did multiple panic stops in snow). Live in Michigan so traction is a little difficult even with snow tires (current snow storm has dumped maybe ~15" of snow in last 2 days).
What I've checked:
- multiple OBD11 scans, can't clear codes, see below
- checked tire pressure
-checked Battery: was testing 12.2 - 11.79V on avg - replaced with new Duracell H5/47 w/ same 60ah rating, adapted new battery in gateway, heard mk7 modules sensitive to weak batteries but no luck.
- removed JB1 module and harness to rule out
- checked fuses in both panel locations
- Topped off a little brake fluid in reservoir
- removed both Front wheel speed sensors, cleaned the black grime off with connector/electronics cleaner spray (plan to do both rear maybe tonight). I don't think it is wheel sensor issue anyways because I should have individual sensor errors?
