I tried to activate DLA on my 2017 B8 Passat (which has the 3Q0 camera). Every step worked, except the last - basic headlamp setting. Whenever I enter the Basic headlamp setting, I get an error stating: "(22) Function cancelled., marginal conditions have not been met". I have now reversed all the changes, but I am still not able to run the basic headlamp settings. Any ideas?

You can't enable DLA with OBDeleven. You will be blind to other drivers because DLA will not be fully activated.

Thank you.
Having returned the settings to normal high beam use, how do I do the Basic Headlamp Setting? I keep getting the "Function cancelled, marginal conditions not met" error.
You assistance is appreciated.

STG 4B Basic settings: 1. "Basic headlight setting (click it first!) 2. "Acknowledge basic setting"(second step)

That is what I am doing.
When I click on Basic headlight setting, I get error "(22) Function cancelled, marginal conditions not met."
Any suggestions what might be causing the error?

For anyone who may have the same issue in the future, I solved the issue after hours of reading and experimentation. One or more of the following fixed the problem. I haven't experimented to see which one was the culprit: Module 4B - Byte 08, changed from 03 to 01.
- Byte 09, changed from 10 to 00.
- Byte 11, changed from 05 to 01.
After that change, the Basic Setting - Basic Headlamp Setting worked perfectly. Thereafter I successfully activated DLA again, by doing the following: Module 09 (Security Access 31347) - Erweiterte Fernlichtsteuerung, set to "AFS: FLA: Fernlicht (GLW:MDF)".
- Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent, set to "Present".
- Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkeinstellung, set to "Present".
Module A5 - Byte 19, change to "30".
- Byte 21, change to "40".
Module 4B - Byte 10, enable bit 6 (mdf_activation)
Thereafter I ran the two Basic Settings: - Basic Headlamp Setting, while parked on flat ground.
- Acknowledge Basic Setting.
I then took it for a 45 minute test drive at night, and it works Perfectly! As others have described: - Cars directly in front are shielded from my light.
- Cars coming the other way are shielded from my light.
- Low beam on one side, high beam on the other side.
- The high beam turns on/off at approximately 60km/h.
- The high beam turns on/off based on ambient light (amount of street light available).
- The cornering lights come on when turning.
It works really well!!!

It isn't everything. Probably you will be blind to other drivers because DLA isn't fully activated.

Having driven it at night for more than 2 hours last night, with most of it through heavy traffic on country roads, the evidence tends to support it is working properly, because not one car flashed their high beam at me! However, I am new to this, so I am happy to learn what the issue with DLA on my car might be. Can you please provide more details? What I can confirm, is this behaviour: I can see the shadow on the road blocking the cars directly in front of me, even if we are travelling around a corner. Similarly, when I drive around a corner, it cuts the high beam on one side. If it is a wide sweeping corner with lots of traffic, then it cuts the beam altogether. Everything I have witnessed tells me it is working properly. My car has the following hardware (from factory): - 09 - HW 5Q0397086BH ver 032, SW 5Q0937086BH ver 0223
- A5 - HW 3Q0980654 ver H06, SW 3Q098065AG ver 0231
- 4B - HW 3Q0907338 ver 001, SW 3Q0907338 ver 0285
I am keen to hear what conditions might arise where DLA will fail? The only inconvenience that I found was when I was driving in a rural area under 60km/h, I had to manually turn on the high beam to see further ahead.

Apologies. That was in module 4B. I'll update my post above to reflect this for other readers.
Let me know if I can provide any additional help.

adventurous, can I ask you which country you're in? I am in U.S., and my DLA coding attempts keep failing.
I wonder if there is anyone in the U.S. who successful coded DLA?
