Hi all, This is my first post and I must say I am enjoying browsing the forums and using the OBDEleven. But I have a few questions that I am hoping people could help me with. I am trying to diagnose a problem with my car, that is a bit of a strange one. My car at certain rev ranges seems to have a "hiccup", I can hold the car at certain rev ranges in all gears and it seems to have a slight power loss, only for a split second and then it comes back in with a slight kick. I have changed the MAF and MAP sensor, had full service + DSG oil/filter changed but still cannot find the problem. The car itself works fine, accelerates perfect and shows no error codes. Recently took me to the UK and back (around 5000km round trip) at speeds upto 200~ in some places without issue. So I am leaning towards a sensor or an electrical Fault. Anyway, back on topic. I am looking for a way to log/chart turbo data etc. But I am unsure how to do it. I have seen the live data sections and stuff but the channels are unlabeled for the mk5 so I have no idea what I am doing. I have a video of the problem on my phone, I shall try and attach it later :> Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks Russell

I haven't played your video as yet. Did you check the coil packs as well?

I just got around to playing the video, saw your tachometer, and realised you have a diesel. We can start to rule out an "ignition" related problem. Does your car have Cruise Control? If so, I'd recommend repeating that test with it on to ensure that it isn't a faulty potentiometer in your accelerator pedal (this can be seen if your log your live data for both the "relative" and "absolute" accelerator pedal position. Diesels are "easier" to troubleshoot in my opinion. I'd request that you log your fuel pump flow rate during that same test at constant speed with the pedal in the same position. I'm curious to see if there is any fluctuation in the fuel pump flow rate at that point. Fuel pressure, and injector flow rates are the next things to log as well. Use this below to assist you in where to look for the measuring blocks you need to log. www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/m_blocks/

Hi again, and thanks for helping! The car does not have cruise control but I can try and log the relevant information. What part of the app do I go to for this to log the data? I can find the channels for the potentiometer(103) and I am also going to take a look at 114(Boost pressure control) but I have replaced the boost pressure sensor already. But I cannot find the groups for fuel pressure or injector flow rates. Thanks again

Once you've achieved the troubleshooting speed as shown in your video, you need to keep the pedal position as stationary as humanly possible.
Give me an hour to look up the measuring blocks for your diesel model.
