I purchased a Cayenne Diesel recently. The dealership charges an insane amount of money for an oil change ($500+ is not uncommon) and they are needed every 5K miles. I know this doesn't sound related to OBDeleven but, stick with me.
I'd be more than happy to do my own oil changes but, this vehicle requires a specialized tool to reset the oil change indicator. There is no other way to reset it. There are only a few tools that are able to do that currently and they are either extremely limited in their abilities or extortionately expensive.
Durametric is the most popular but, it is limited in the data it can display, it appears unable to register a new battery, and it does not do any coding at all. At $350-$750 this is tool too limited for the cost.
To my knowledge the only one that will allow you to do any programming is a pirated PIWIS which is quite expensive and is technically not for sale to the general public. Pirated copies are typically over $1K.
The icarsoft seems to be closest to the function of what OBDeleven provides for other vehicles but, still does not support coding. I'd love to be able to do stuff like turn off my seatbelt chime and navi warnings, have the mirrors fold on lock, unfold at speed, etc...
The Cayenne shares a lot of it's components with vehicles that are already supported (Touareg, Q7) and obdeleven also says it supports Bentley and Lamborghini. How is there no support for the Cayenne or any other Porsche?

Hello,
i understand your problem. OBDeleven is one of the best solutions you can get if you look at the price-performance ration. Currently it "only" supports VAG/Lamborghini and Bently but they're planning to add more brands. I know that Porsche belongs to VAG but i think that there are too much software differences. If it would be the same than it would be supported too but it isn't so there have to differneces. I would say that it'll take a lot more time until porsche maybe gets added.

I also suspect there is a licence issue, VW Have to agree to the software companies (Ross Tech and Voltas) building this stuff and in what countries.
But in time i am sure they will expand the range of cars, but hopefully they will fix a few issues for us first.

Thanks for the response. It would seem there would be at least some cross over, especially on the Cayenne given the platform sharing. I would imagine it is also a bigger market share than Bentley and Lambo combined so, it would seem more worth while to figure out. Oh well...
If they decide to develop the tool for Porsche let me know, I'd be happy to grab some data and do testing.

Hi !
I saw in the Supported Vehicules section of the OBDeleven website that Porsche cars are supported but in the App they do not show. Should Porsche cars be available soon in the App or are they already supported and their VIN can be used in add vehicule form?
Thanks

This is also true of Bugatti and Man
If you want to find out today its simple enter a vin number and if accept it and shows the correct car that's a good indication.
I just got a usa car vin number and put it in the app and it identified it as a Porche Cayenne. What I can say is there is there are no apps for it.
However I would ask Support if they offer full coding support for your car.

I believe the issue is the wiring. Some ppl have been able to get an obd2 extension cable and swap 2 wires to make obd11/vcds be able to read ALL porsche modules. I have yet to test this myself. Would be interested if someone on here can test that. I can search more info for exact wire switching
