Hi all ninjas! I just bought my self an OBD11, so I am quite new to this, so please insult and offend me freely. Ive got Lane Assist (the camera) from factory but the "smaller non-nav Infotainment" in my Passat GTE 2017. So I should be all set to activate the Traffic sign feature! I tried the "app" for activation of the Traffic sign feature, it comes back with "not supported" So I jumped into the "pro settings" and tried it the manual way: Traffic Sign Assist Activation
Select Control unit 5F (Information Electrical) <Found it, check!>Adaptation Select channel (63) vehicle function list BAP traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 <Found it, check!>Değer=Active Select channel (151) vehicle menu operation-menu_display_road_sign_identification <Found it, check!>Değer=Active Select channel (153) vehicle menu operation-menu_display_road_sign_identification_over_threshold_high <Found it, check!>Değer=Active Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) (Well, its not called front / advance camera) <Found it, check!>Security access <Found it, check!>Access Code 20103 <Found it, check!>Control unit Long Coding <Found it, check!>Byte 1 <Found it, check!>Bit 0 Activate - "01 Traffic Sign Recognition (FTE) active" <Noo, it does not say, doesnt look right....>Select Control unit 17 (Dashboard) Control unit Long Coding Byte 5 Bit 2 Aktivate Control unit A5 (front / advance camera) Adaptation Select : channel numbers indicate end of speed limit Importance to actively invest Show Valid suffix View Channel Valid suffix Corresponding value adjust default: 00100111 So my question is, would Byte 1 bit 0 under Control Unit A5 be the bit to change for my Passat GTE? Thank you in advance! // Tubstr -- Sweden

Well, the listed coding on the pinned thread does not work for Passat GTE 2017 (EU/Swedish signs). This is what I did and it works great (and matches the labels of each bit)
- Traffic Sign Recognition – Passat GTE 2017 1. Control Module 5F 2. Security Access – Access Code 20103 3. Adaptations 4. Car_Functions_List_BAP_Gen2: traffic_sign_recognition_0x21 not activated -> activated 5. Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2: menu_display_road_sign_identification not activated -> activated 6. Select menu_display_road_sign_identification (OR menu_display_traffic_sign_recognition), set to Enabled 7. Long Coding 8. Byte 24, activate Bit 6 9. Control Module A5 10. Security Access – Access Code 20103 11. Long Coding 12. Byte 16, activate Bit 4 13. Control Module 17 14. Long Coding 15. Byte 5, active bit 2 16. Control Module A5 17. Security Access – Access Code 20103 18. Adaptations 19. Road sign detection fusion mode: Road Sign Fusion -> Road Sign Detection. 20. Press and hold infotainment device power button to reboot the infotainment system.

Hey tubstr, would you mind sharing your long coding for A5 camera? I've just retrofitted my camera and cannot calibrate it due to: U101400 - Control module incorrectly coded static I can't find any other thread with Passat GTE having the long coding done correctly. I got Passat GTE with ACC My current settings: A5 Driver Assistance System description: MQB_B_MFK Software number: 3Q0980654H Software version: 0272 Hardware number: 3Q0980654A Hardware version: H09 Serial number: 12061812P13057 ODX name: EV_MFKBoschMQBB ODX version: 001001 Long coding: 0005080200000401000400448146A90098000E230220 Thanks, Kubi

Got the coding right after many trials and failures. Hope this will help anyone out there.

Static calibration also successful 🙌
I will next attempt to code the traffic sign recognition. As soon as the dynamic calibration finishes.
