On the Q3, this option is disabled and I really need this disabling (using the app) How do I enable this feature in OBDEleven?
I am now assuming some long coding is required as the app can't do it.. please advise how..

Hi naviev Thanks for this information. I tried, and found the option, and initially it seemed to work. There was a warning on the dash display telling me the start/stop operation was faulty. I went for a drive and the feature was still enabled. I tried this twice. Somehow, the ECU recognises this 'illegal' setting and sets it back to normal! The app always tells me the feature is not supported.. guess this is why

Looking for the same answers. I also want to disable Start/Stop or at least revers the button. When I go into Gateway 19, Long Adaptation all I get is channels that look empty, no list to brows through. I would try the temperature option or voltage if given the chance but there is nothing. I have a Q3 2017 and the OBDEleven Pro. Looking around the internet seems to give me unanswered questions. One of my main reasons in purchasing the OBDEleven was to Scan for faults and switch off the damn Start/Stop, had it two weeks now. Tried both IOS and Android.
Any help from any Guru would be very much appreciated. Thanks

1.Central electronics (09) Coding (07) Long coding Byte 26 Bit 0 (uncheck the box, the system remains active but does not turn off the engine)
2.Instrument cluster(17) Adaptation (10) The top line is a drop-down list of items Point 'control lamp for start-stop operation' Select 'Inactive' (to disable information I'm FIS). If you are at a traffic light, only a crossed out (A) is displayed in the FIS at the bottom left, but the engine is not switched off. It's tested on Audi Q3 2016 U8 1.6 tfsi 150ps.

Hi, I’ve just joined this forum and would like to know if any of the above suggestions have worked for other owners of Audi Q3 (8U). I have a 2.0 TFSI and would like to disable the start stop function but I’m a bit hesitant to buy the OBD11 because I’m not yet sure it will work for my car. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

sloveridge, I have 2012 Q3 (8U) and OBDeleven works as it should in this car as well as in 2016 Golf MK7 (5G) and every other VAG car that was made before the SFD revolution in 2020.

I am looking for solution how to disable start/stop and neither a quick app has worked nor changing voltage. Then I found this selection. What does it do?

Try this. Worked for me in my Audi Q3 8U.
Module: 09 (Central Electronics) Coding → Long Coding → Byte: 26 → Bit: 0 New value: disable
Module: 17 (Instruments Cluster) Adaptation → Channel: Control lamp for start-stop operation New value: inactive

This finally just now worked for me (thus far that is!) on a 2012 Q3 2.0 lt tfsi quattro, had tried few times before other tricks without success. This one works so far, only on my phone there is no numbered Bit 0 on the disabling function under Byte 26, there are numbers only from number 4 but from the first 3 or 4 Bits that are without numbers I deactivated the first one. Regarding the deactivation of the start/stop light on my phone it is not indicated as 'control lamp for start/stop operation' but something similar, I don't remember how, scrolling down the list you will find it and you deactivate that as well. As nikonikow said, if you are at a traffic light or at a stop, only a crossed out (A) is displayed in the FIS at the bottom left, but the engine is not switched off and the interior start/stop switch light is not activated. Great job, I hope it holds and the car's ecu doesn't return it into factory mode, if so I' ll let you know.

YES! I finally got the pesky auto start stop function disabled following the instructions above. I’ll let you know if the ECU reverts to the default.

I tried this today on a friends new S3 and worked fine from the adaptation but the error saying its off comes up every few seconds and is even more annoying. Is there any way to turn off stop start without having the error constantly appearing on the dash?
