I know, it is for safety and I agree 100 % with restricting certain features. But it is annoying that passenger cannot access for example by trying to enter a destination address on GPS. In my previous 2016 GTI I also had available the feature to listen text message reading, which is much more safe feature that can be used while driving. Please any step by step coding to disable such blocks.

Go to 5f adaptions and change all Locked menu contents: to non-blocked

I have the same issue, I have all the values to non-blocked but It still does not work.
Is there any other solution?

I found a section in 5F called "nhtsa_properties" that seems to control limitations on Android Auto and Car Play. Switched everything that was activated to not activated.

Found it and it worked. CONTROL UNITS > INFORMATION CONTROL UNITS (5F) > SECURITY ACCESS > ADAPTATION > LOCKED MENU CONTENTS , Then make every item non-locked.
Now I can SAFELY drive listening to important text messages,thanks also VWJAP

Far as I can tell this just prevents you from being locked out of Android Auto / car play functions while in motion. |

I was hoping there was a setting to allow Google maps nav to give directions but still show the VW maps on the aid. On either the iOS or Android auto app as soon as you set a destination the map is removed from the aid. I'm also wondering if the VW maps app can have other features enabled like dual maps and traffic only alerts as these only come on the pro  Thanks Terran |
