Hi,
Is it possible to have the option to turn of the SoundAktor on the GLI's as well? I currently do not see the Control Module: A9 Actuator For Structure Borne Sound
Thanks

I just completed the physical disconnection of the device. Vast improvement, highly recommended. Applies to a 2016 GLI SEL. YMMV Known differences from most youtube videos: - On the GLI, the device is only two wires (hence not addressable).
- There is only one device under the rain pan, so don't stress out about not getting the right thing. It's a round puck about 8cm in diameter and maybe 6cm thick.
- There are no clips holding the rain pan - the weatherstripping overlaps and holds the front edge of the 2 part pan.
- The space is unimaginably tight to insert an adult size XL hand. Be prepared for some pain.
There is a pinch clip that locks the connector together. Use an inspection mirror to help find it. After disconnecting the electrical coupler, I chose to cover the wiring harness end in a section of bike inner tube and zip-tie it to the wires, preserving the use of the connector for a future user. This also will dampen out any vibration so the loose coupler does not become a rattle. I relocated the coupler down behind another wire to keep it from moving around as well.
Pull your hands out, replace the weather stripping and enjoy! I noticed the difference before I even got out of the driveway. Biggest difference is when you are still in gear, slowing down. No throb - just quiet (since the ECU has probably cut fuel and spark).
