Yesterday I noticed a strange issue where my Blindspot Monitor wasn’t working and when I tried to turn it on or off I would get a message that said: This function is currently not available.

Strangely while this was happening I also noticed a new menu for Lane Change System (Side Assist) which I don’t think I saw before in my car, a Canadian market 2018 Golf ML7.5 R.

What is this option?

When I looked at the 3C side assist module it’s almost like it was erased. I had a backup of the long coding, so I coded it back. Now my blindspot monitor works again, I again have the option for cross traffic alert in the dash, but the Lane Change System (Side Assist) has disappeared.

Anyone can shed some light on what is happening?

I know same issue with Seat Ateca.

As mentioned above, I restored the coding and it seems to work again, but I’m still curious about the other option that was showing.

I spoke too soon. Options for Blindspot Monitor and Cross-traffic Alert are back, but when I try to turn them on I get an error.

They updated the firmware on the module as part of TSB 2052500, and now everything is back to normal again.

Hi... I wish to add that menú voice too (Side Assist). A friend activated it, then removed it.

Can you please post a full scan of Your 3C, 5F or what needed for it please?
