Hi, Is it possible to get the tailgate to close by pressing and holding the button on the key? (the one that is used to open the tailgate that is  ) I have the electric tailgate have to close it by pressing the button on the tailgate. But it does not close by pressing the keybutton.. Passat B8 2017 model. BR//J |

Only in Octavia 5E, not Passat B8.

Yes, if you can do this by default you are lucky  But if you don't, you can't do this with coding. |

Like the doors do if you unlock them? This missing safety / security feature on the tailgate is doing my head in!! Arrgggh |

Worst case was the tailgate been open for 4 hours outside my work. Luckily no one did anything with the car. |

Im not sure if it is standard But if you dont have the switch inside the trunk to close it then you dont have the motor that closes it automatically and cannot do it with the key.

In this case i can open the tailgate with the key. I just can not get it to close with the key.
the button on the key is also elevated. This results in numerous unwanted openings...
