I spend a lot of time in heavy traffic, with some slopes in parts pf the path. When creeping slowly as the traffic moves, it would be cool not to have the engine start every time the speed increases above 2 km/h, but have it set to say..8 km/h.
I couldn't find this value set in any adaptation channel or coding, but maybe I'm missing something...
I understand the security concern (no engine vacuum, no servo-brakes), but until 8 km/h is still manageable.
There is an adaptation for enabling the electric steering while the engine is off, but eventually this drains too much of the battery power, and also creates more load on the switching transistors because of the lower voltage...
Any thoughts are welcome.
Cheers,
Luis Teixeira

teixeluis, with regards to electric steering while the engine is off, on my car this is a one off change that reverts after the ignition is turned off and back on (I suspect for the very reasons you quote).

cupra280, cool. Thanks for describing the behavior of this adaptation. It shows that it is likely only intended for testing. A production use case for this feature does not seem realistic, except on an hybrid vehicle using the same type of steering control unit.. I presume the value of the adaptation changed automatically after switching off the engine? Best regards, Luis Teixeira
